Outstanding laptop!!!,

This review is from: HP EliteBook Mobile Workstation 8730w 17" Widescreen Notebook (Electronics)
I use an 8730w on a daily basis. It is an outstanding, if slightly overpriced laptop. HP Products are a LOT better than their Customer Support.....I'm no fan of their phone support (it IS ridiculous {Hello English Anyone?] but I've rarely had an HP product *I've* owned fail. Yes, they do have issues from time to time...all electronics do, but I think the biggest drawback to this unit is HARDLY the Laptop hardware itself....simply the people supporting it. While this DOES need to be taken into consideration when purchasing....I'll state for the record that this Laptop is a BEAST!!! Load it up with 8Gb of Ram and the QX9300 Mobile Quad core, and their is NOTHING this laptop cannot handle with ease. If you need RAW POWER and a 17" Screen in a unit that CAN play DX 10.1 games as well as handle Workstation level graphics, this is a thoroughly capable Laptop to handle your needs.

DONT BUY A LAPTOP FROM HP,
By
This review is from: HP EliteBook Mobile Workstation 8730w 17" Widescreen Notebook (Electronics)
Here is my experience with HP:May 2009 - Bought Laptop from HP website - List Price - $2400 Sept. 2009 - Screen went blank - sent it in for repairs and motherboard and RAM replaced Jan. 2010 - Computer began loosing power randomly - sent it in for repairs - motherboard replaced again Jan. 2010 - Received computer back from repairs and computer was still loosing power - sent it in for repairs - power cord replaced Feb. 2010 - Received computer back again from repairs and computer is still loosing power - currently sent in for the FOURTH time for repairs. Conclusion: Don't buy an HP. If you do, don't rely their warranty. The only thing the warranty does, is give them the right to endlessly send your computer in for repairs even if the problem is never fixed. Their warranty says "its up to their discretion to replace or refund a product". Apparently they dont have the discretion to make the right decision and replace a defective product after repeated repair attempts. |
