5.0 out of 5 stars Value and Readyboost ready
Pros: Value (these are lower priced compared to the competition), decent speed, readyboost works on these. Not a super durable case but it should be okay.

Cons: Not really a con but when buying three identical flash drives you need to label them on the outside and rename them in Windows so you know which drive you are working on and which one you can remove...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great price, but some headaches...
I am a teacher and bought this set of jump drives to quickly share files with students in class. With my Mac (OS 10.5), only two of the five drives were recognized. After searching HP support forums, I noticed someone's post that Disc Utility could see the drives. This was true for me as well. Erasing the drive (reformatting) instantly solved the issue and the drives are...

Pros: Value (these are lower priced compared to the competition), decent speed, readyboost works on these. Not a super durable case but it should be okay.

Cons: Not really a con but when buying three identical flash drives you need to label them on the outside and rename them in Windows so you know which drive you are working on and which one you can remove. Like all flash drives with untethered caps, the cap can be easily lost.

After almost losing two caps the first day I used them, I modified them by drilling a hole (1/16) in the cap and attaching a line to the cap and to the place where you can attach a lanyard. I used fishing line as it was readily available. Ugly but I get to keep my caps.

Since I have never had an issue like this with any USB device on my Mac, I can only assume the drives are quirky. There are other posts that indicate a similar problem.

1.0 out of 5 stars 1 failed after less than 4mo of use, December 8, 2009

I have many HP products and usually am very pleased but one of these flash drives has already failed, 3.5mo after purchasing. I purchased the 3pk from Amazon, and am now concerned that the data left on the other 2 is probably not secure from failure. I'll be contacting HP for replacement.

5.0 out of 5 stars great value, February 24, 2009

These drives are a great value--good little work horses for moving data around. They aren't fancy, but they get the job done. One thing I was concerned about was whether the opening to attach a key chain or lanyard would be big enough to be useful and it is. Anything you'll want to attach the drive to will work.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, May 3, 2010

I received the five-pack on March 9, and two of the flash drives have already failed, less than two months later. I expected an HP product to be of better quaility.

4.0 out of 5 stars good little drive for the price, December 24, 2009
I really do like this item speed is ok fast on read 18.07 and slow on write 6.42 with win 7 homeprem 64bit.

the size and weight are nice if you use on a lanyard also cap is tight and goes on lanyard end when in use.

I did get them at less than $10ea so take that into account.

1.0 out of 5 stars USB 4GB DRIVE 3 PACK, September 10, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The HP 4GB USB Drives worked upon arrival, however two weeks after arrival two of the drives were no longer able to connect with my desktop or either of my two laptops.

I do not recommend this package of USB drives for future buyers.

The third USB drive stopped working four weeks after arrival. HP, I mean PNY, who manufactured the drives, did replace the first two drives after I used HP's warranty page, which forwarded me to PNY.

So far they are working. I guess they just had a bad batch? Too bad.

1.0 out of 5 stars doesn't work!, July 7, 2010

What a disappointment! I ordered and tested all 5 usb drives. Only 2 of the 5 usb drives actually worked. I had to send them back. I expected better quality from HP.
