I have this camera and I like it a lot. It replaced a firewire cam that was getting pretty tired. The setup was real easy and it's low light performance is amazing. I'm not sure what the other reviewer was experiencing, but mine has been just the opposite. I'm running on a Mac (osx 10.5.6) and all I had to do was plug the unit in to my usb chain. The system recognized it immediately. I then had to select it from the video device pulldown menus within all the apps I use. THAT was it! There are 3 buttons on the camera that don't function on the mac but that's fine by me. The stereo mic works good and produces great sound. I use this cam for video conferencing, ichat, skype, and to make tutorial videos (screenflow). I've read reviews on other sites and the biggest complaint was that the base was big and clunky. I actually like that. I gives the cam stability and provides a great foundation for the unit. I'm very satisfied with this webcam.
The only negative I have is that the frame rate isn't as good as I would like it to be, but I honestly think that is my fault. I have about 12 usb items daisy chained together on my system. I plan to split that up a bit and install powered usb hubs. We'll see if that improves the results. Honestly though, I can recommend this camera.

Good product, however the pivot at the lense linkage was quite weak. It did not hold the lense at the desired angle. It needs a screw not a pin for that linkkage.

Overall great Webcam. The only fault is that it does not stay in position. I have it sitting on top of my monitor screen and it will slowly slide down and not maintain the set postion. I have not found a way to tighten the Webcam onto it's hinge.

When you use this CAM, install the drivers and also change SKYPE to use the HP CAM editor, instead of SKYPE viewer.
This will allow the HP to covert the video to MAX quality and not lock up. It also has the privacy lens cover built in to the CAM. A must for any CAM.

If one is using an HP computer the works great, was simple to install from the start

I found the webcam picture quality pretty good. My main objection is that it does not attach to a laptop computer well at all. It continues to slide off or fall off, and the auto focus won't work when it does that. If I had known that I would have bought a different one.

I have the smaller hp webcam for my laptop, it works great so I decided to buy this one for the PC. I am not dissapointed yet. Has a good picture, not awesome but a good picture. My wife installed it with me out of town and didnt call me once! She is not computer literate at all. It is just plug it in, let it find drivers and your ready to go. Great Product

Can be better, I believe is not 30fps........but what I can said, if I want a better cam I need to paid more, for the price is OK, the next time I will look for 30fps or HD Cam.....!

the camera has very clear video and its mic is very impressive one of the best on the market but its frame rate lack's at the higher quality setting anything more then 640x480 but the auto focus is nice and so is the stand my doesn't droop or anything unlike what the other people have had a problem with but my conclusion is if you pay full price for this video its not worth it but if you can get it for like $40 go for it but for the the full price buy the logitech 9000 or the logitech orbit af because they have high frame rates at high resolution
