I love this device...,
By Chris Cortes (The Woodlands, TX United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: HP OfficeJet V40SE All-in-One (Office Product)
I have had my HP v40 for about 6 months now, and I have really enjoyed it. Not only does this device print, but it also copies, scans and faxes.First the printing quality is excellent for black and white, but also quite good with color. I think that the black and white speed is very good. I am a computer programmer, and author so I frequently print code and chapters when working or writing. Printing large chapters in Draft quality is twice as fast as my previous printer, the HP 722C, which I also thought was fast. I have attempted to print photos, with mixed results. Although I am not 100 percent sold on the scanning feature, I have used it before and it works pretty good. I still rely on my HP ScanJet for professional quality scans. Copying is pretty good on this device. You can modify the copy quality right on the device's control panel as you are making copies. I think that the Fine quality images/documents turn out looking really good, while the Normal quality leaves a little to be desired. The fax machine built into this device is really what sold me. I frequently need to fax dozens of pages at a time to various locations, and the feeder tray has never failed me; with this fax machine I have never had to resend a page yet - knock on wood. You are also supposed to be able to store numbers in the fax machine's memory, but I have yet to figure that out. In all, this is one of the best multipurpose devices I have ever purchased. I am very happy with it, and I highly recommend it.

The best all-in-one for small businesses on a budget,
By
This review is from: HP OfficeJet V40SE All-in-One (Office Product)
If you work from home, or operate a small personal business, then you probably have clearly defined wants and needs in your office equipment. You want a high-quality fax machine that you can trust to send and receive documents without your attention. You want a printer that will produce presentation-quality results without wasting ink. You might want to scan receipts or invoices into your computer, and a low-volume copier would be nice. Most of all, you need this equipment to be well-made, reliable, and easy to use, and you'd like it all to cost as little as possible. With the OfficeJet V40, you get all of that. As a consultant, I have recommended this machine to a variety of Mom & Pop shops and executives who like to take paperwork home. I have never heard a complaint nor seen a return. The V40 (both SE and XI - the only difference is in the distribution channels) isn't a speed demon, and it lacks flatbed scanning, but its price and versatility make it an excellent value. Large office? Get two!

Better Value than the K60,
By A Customer
This review is from: HP OfficeJet V40SE All-in-One (Office Product)
At...less than the K60, the v40 has the same resolution and features plus it will copy a color print in b/w which the K60 won't. The only drawbacks are that it is about 1 ppm slower than the K60 and it is USB only (the K60 is USB and parallel). Both are great machines but this one is the better deal in my opinion
