I personally did not like the fact that the box had already been opened. The box inside has a HP seal but it was already cut and anyone could of replaced the original new one with a semi used one. I put the battery on the computer and used the HP assistant tool to test the battery and it was in OK status...NOT EVEN ON GOOD STATUS. So I feel that the battery is probably not brand new and I can't really say how long it will last but I will update my review when this battery gives out. The only reason I am not gonna return it is because of the price (compared to the price on the HP site $140), this is all I could afford right now so if anyone really needs the replacement battery this is a good cheaper alternative (or maybe its not if this only ends up lasting a couple months).

excellant price for the battery. Received it on time and was surprised it was not an off brand item...it was the factory item and fit in perfectly

Packaging was professional and product is genuine. My laptop use to turn off within 15 min before. With this battery it's back to 1 1/2 hrs

Bought this replacement 4 months ago and now it's dead! I use my laptop just about everyday but this still should have lasted a lot long. Not very happy right now b/c I paid almost $100 for a replacement battery to have it only work for 4 months. Now I have no battery for my laptop and do not plan to buy another one for awhile.

This item not only was half the price of HP direct, but arrived in HP packaging and passed the laptop battery test app. While it's too early to comment on the lifetime of the battery, this was a good deal.

I paid considerably more for the "HP" battery than the Chinese knock-offs, but considerably less than from HP itself. It came in the original HP packaging, and appears to be genuine. After one month of use, it has not shorted out. I've lost money on chinese knock-offs that shorted, and so at least it met that criterion. It holds charge well and fully passes the HP battery check.

I had to send this to my husband overseas. It's bad enough the mail takes forever but when he finally did get his hands on his battery it worked for a whole two days. It claims it's HP battery but I don't know how true that is I'll have to wait until I see it for myself. The obvious thing that is makeing me mad he can't return it where he's at so it was a waste of money relying on the reviews and thinking we were getting a good legitimate product. Do Not Buy this, that's my recommendation!! I'm almost wondering if they sent him a used one because they knew he wouldn't be able to send it back.

After looking/asking at best buy and other computer stores and being told they dont sell batteries (?), I found this battery on Amazon and bought it for my laptop. It is the exact match to the battery that came with the computer and, so far, has been working great! It took a little bit longer to get here than I expected but I wasnt in a rush, really. Overall, great buy!

I've had this battery for a few weeks now, and is a great improvement from the previous that held no charge. Battery life lasts for up to about 4 hours of use with some fiddling with settings, and much longer while hibernating unplugged. Hopefully it will continue to hold a charge until my next laptop!
