We've owned a Laserjet 1200 for six years now, and have yet to have any real problem with it. It's a powerful workhorse that handles many printing tasks without difficulty. Even when the neighborhood power died and it stopped printing with paper caught in it, this printer unjammed without a hitch. The manual is also easily accessible online as a PDF. Pair it with the ultraprecise toner cartridge for great results.

I had this same model printer for years and was very satisfied with it. After 10 years and well over 100,000 pages printed my first one gave out.

I bought a new printer and had more problems with it in one month than I did the HP 1200 in 10 years. I wish HP still made this printer. It is a big slower than the new models, but it is very reliable and I would gladly give up a little speed for the increased reliability.

This model is also slightly bigger than the newer ones, but not by very much.

I especially like the way it pulls the paper up. With paychecks you put them in face up and it is easier to have them print in order.

Great packing and worked out of the box.
Used 6 days per week 200 + pages per day.

Gotta love this beast, it just keeps going, not finicky about drivers, you don't even have to install anything on a new Mac OS. The one I used at work died, but slowly, I knew it was going out, no sudden "Oh, my printer's just died" more like "Hey Boss, I'm going to need a new printer sometime soon" and this was after a long and productive life.

I use this printer for a legal practice and the printer gets steady use every day (average of 1,000 sheets per month). The printer has never broken, needed repair, or had any problem whatsoever for 5 years. The first page out speed is moderate - about 20 seconds and print speed is moderate at 15 ppm. Print quality is very consistent and jamming or crumpling is not an issue. One of the best values around.

I have to agreed with the other comments concerning this printer. I've had this printer for around eight years and haven't had any problems with it. I'm very pleased with it. When you shop around for toner cartridges, the cost per page drops to make it a worthwhile printer.

While HP's inkjets vary in quality and durability, it has a well-deserved reputation for long-lasting, robust laser printers. This printer is superb! I

t's very fast, largely hassle-free, and quickly pays for itself. The toner is expensive, but some comparison shopping online can usually yield a decent price. Note that there is a regular and a high-capacity toner, and the latter is usually the better deal per page.

The printer handles most types of paper with no problem. I've had very few jams. There is only one button on the entire unit and it's shockingly all you need. The printer remains on at all times unless you want to unplug it after each use. The printer accommodates all paper sizes up to 8.5" wide and 14" long. One tip to avoid jams: If you use the feeder to input special paper, pull the paper out of the slot. Otherwise, the printer may try to feed paper from both simultaneously.

I've had this printer for nearly a decade with almost no problems. Highly recommended!

I have owned one of these printers for about 4 years and it has never let me down. I'm not a power printer by any means but when I hit the print button I expect the machine to work and this one does without fail. So when the boss's printer gave up the ghost I purchased this one refurbished and set it up for him. Plug and Play and it was up and running in 5 minutes.

It's a little slower than the newer models and I wouldn't recommend pushing 10,000 pages a day through it (although I think it could do it), but if you need a never fail reliable printer, then this may be the one for you.

HP no longer makes this model so rebuilt/refurbished is all your going to find. Look for a good company with a proven track record. You will also need to purchase the toner for it, but it will generally be cheaper than the ones for the new printers (I've only changed mine once). Overall this is a great black and white printer that you'll use for years.

This printer is a phenominal black/white printer, I have one at my desk in my office, and the thing just does not die! I have probably printed over 15,000-20,000 pages on it and have taken it with me from each division that I worked in, not to mention it has been dropped, kicked, knoced over, bounced around and everything else you can imagine. The printer is very fast, set up is super simple, and the paper very rarely jams.

Although this model of printer is an older style and an older version, it is a real workhorse and does not stop for anything. If you need a high quality printer that will get your job done, with minimal issues, this is going to be the printer for you. Secondly, the printer is so durable you should even have minimal issues with a used one, the one at my desk was passed down from one of the company dinosaurs and still works like it is straight out of the box. Secondly, this printer gives me less problems than the newer color printer that is at my desk. The IT guys tried repeatedly to get me to upgrade my printer, I told them hell no, and it works out becuase mine still works perfectly.

The only compalint about this printer is that this bad boy is pretty loud. But aside from that, it is great and you cant go wrong with it. Pick one of these up, it works like a dream!

It took a while to get the software loaded on my mac. It works but having a hard time setting the print options. Software not found for mac for setting options. It works but on windows it works better since HP has more software for windows.
