The 8150 is one of Hewlett-Packard's fastest and most expandable laser printers. Designed to meet your business needs, the 8150's 250 MHz processor produces 32 ppm. Copies can be made with a variety of different media types up to 11 x 17 inches. The maximum input capacity is 3,100 sheets with unattended printing. An optional envelope feeder is also supported.

Network printing, copying, and digital sending all work in one scalable, upgradable network device. An expandable printer, the 8150 is designed to build a custom printing and imaging system. The flexible design accommodates many optional features, such as paper-handling accessories for high-capacity input and output and finishing options for large, unattended printing jobs. The 8150 sends documents digitally over the network to e-mail addresses and LANFax servers. Firmware stored in flash memory allows remote firmware upgrades over the Internet. Job-retention features, private print, and proof and hold are enabled in RAM.

The 8150 is compatible with PC and Macintosh systems. It comes with many services and solutions including a one-year warranty, and it meets Energy Star standards. This 112.44-pound printer measures 22.3 by 21.3 by 20.5 inches.

My school owns two of these and they have worked quite well. We run an NT network and have 2 labs with about 50 computers in each. The computers in the lab print to these, and because we run a network and the printer can two, every classroom and can print to the lab printers. The printer is very versatile with 2 or 3 automatic bays for paper and 2 manual entry paper bays for large papers or envelopes and such. It prints extremely fast, but takes about 5 minutes to warm up in the morning, or 2 minutes to warm up if it hasn't been used in a couple hours. It rarely has problems, and when it does it is usually the kids' fault. It has worked extremely well for our school and has had only a few minor problems.
