This vendor claims to sell a NEW HP Laser Toner cartridge but instead ships a cheap, remanufactured one. A complaint promises a correct part in replacement but you must pay to ship back the original junk one. As soon as they receive the imitation they then refund the original amount -leaving the customer with nothing but a freight bill for sending back the wrong part which legally you are entitled to keep.
Very sleezy. Not sure I want to order from Amazon again after many satisfying transactions up until now. Sleezy. Very sleezy. I spend $9 and have NOTHING.

HP includes a free shipping label in the package of each cartridge so that you can easily send the old cartridges back to them (they recycle them). You can improve the life of the cartidge by taking it out every now and then and making sure the toner is well-distributed by slowly shaking it. I printed 2 boxes (20 reams) with one of these cartridges, set on Light (which looks fine). ...

Okay, my printer, a Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 5L, is not great. Despite mechanical problems, it prints well. Crooked, maybe, but otherwise well. Using the real HP toner makes a difference. The greys are more even, fine lines are crisper. I tried two versions of recycled cartridges and the results were immediately noticeable. Amazon has a great price on the real ones, so it is worth it to stick with them.

This toner is great. I have had the printer for 5 years and this is the first time I've had to replace the toner...and I don't scrimp on printing. I print checks, graphics, letters, reports, etc. I am very pleased with the quality and quantity.

Cartridge arrived quickly and I was pleased, but it only lasted 3 weeks. I had to replace it. I won't be buying this one again.

Because my time is money, it is cheaper for me to shop online. I found this product at the Hewlett Packard retail site for $60. Office Max retails it for $48.97. Staples' web site was having technical problems and I couldn't get on. Amazon is always available and competitive.

Well the most important thing about buying ink and toner for your printer is price, and Amazon.com has beaten every on-line price I have seen. As for the toner itself, Hewlett Packard toner is top. I buy this product for two reasons, 1. It's what fits in my printer, and 2. I know when I buy the C3906A, I am getting what I payed for, a quality cartrige that lasts. One last note, twords the end of the cartrige life, a small line appears in the content of my page letting me know its allmost time for a new one. simply shake the cartrige, reorder, and by the time the new one arrives, the old one is finished.

Ordered two C3906A cartriidges in January. The first lasted seven months with vey good performance. The second, ordered at the same time, lasted less than seven hours! Light printing => "no" printing - even after the normal shaking.

Toner cartridge appeared to come in it's original box. Date on the box was November 2002 which makes the toner over 9 years old. I will not use this toner. Will have to dispose of it.

Ordered from Adorama camera store (adorama.com) - as a spare for my HP laserjet 3100. I needed it and tried to use it about 1 month after receipt. It is completely useless, was either too old or completedly used but can hardly read the print. Adorama refused to allow a return and replacement as the return period had expired. Warning to all those who want to save like me.
