Let's face it. The toner is HP new original and as always it works. Amazon is great. Fast shipping, and always arrives on or most of the time before estimated date. The prices are hard to beat. I searched hi and lo and found no other as cheap as Amazon on this toner. After all the horror stories from people who purchased re manufactured toner cartridges I opted for the new for just a little more which is worth not having problems.

What arrived as not an original HP toner cartridge, but a generic one instead. If I had wanted a generic cartridge, I would have paid a lot less for one elsewhere. Do not purchase this toner!! They are not sending people what they are selling.

Like some of the other reviewers I ordered this item thinking it was a great deal only to receive an email a couple of days later informing me there had been a product description error and they were really selling a generic toner cartridge. I called the customer service line and left a message but never received a call back. My order was subsequently canceled. This appears to be an old-fashioned bait and switch operation. Retailers like this should be banned from Amazon. What a waste of time, don't bother.

After going around to all of the local stores and each asking the same $65 price + tax for a new cartridge, I went to Amazon and got the same for $53 tax and shipping free. The cartridge is exactly the same one as in the stores.

THIS IS A BAIT AND SWITCH OFFERING - don't order this product! This appears to be a great price for a genuine HP print cartridge - but it is not genuine HP, you are receiving a generic compatible print cartridge instead. You will receive a note stating such several days after the time in which you have to cancel the order. Easiest solution - if you're looking for genuine HP cartridges, order from another vendor who's credible, if you're looking for compatible cartridges, order from someone who's less expensive.

The cartridge was late in arriving due to several delays. I wanted to cancel the order but was unable to.

When I got it, the packaging looked OK. However, the box was dated 2007 which means the toner had expired 3 years ago. It's working for now but in all liklihood, I won't be getting the full benefit of a fresh toner cartridge.

In the future, I won't be buying anything from Amazon that can expire.

After seeing the praise for getting official HP cartidges, I ordered 2. They came quickly, but were over priced generics. Not the HP I was offered on this page.
And Anmazon won't correct the error.

After several emails, Amazon did come through, and replaced this order with "Original HP LaserJet 35A" as had been advertised. But I am out the postage.

The jury is still out for me. I purchased a new HP P1006 printer about 6 months ago for a great price ($80) at a local office supply chain store. I had decided to get rid of my HP ink jet printer due to the cost of the HP ink cartridges and the inconsistent quality of the more reasonably priced off-brand cartridges.

I have been satisfied with the print quality of HP P1006 though I am not yet convinced about the printed page quantity claims made by HP for this printer and cartridge. My original HP cartridge ran "dry" after less than 800 pages - they claim 1500 pages for the expected life. I understand that what you print has a huge impact on the actual cartridge life expectancy. At this moment my average printed page (type density) must match HP's typical expectations since the projected number of pages remaining on the new cartridge summed with the pages I've already printed are on target for 1500 sheets. I'll update this review after the new data is in.

Meanwhile, I hope to find a reliable, less expensive cartridge for this printer. I appreciate Amazon offering the name brand for a good price.

Genuine HP toner or inkjet cartridges are the only way to go. Every compatible I have ever purchased gave bad print quality and needed replacing MUCH faster than the branded items. Pay a little more, but get a huge amount of extra savings in the long run.

Pluses - The cartridge was as advertised.
The price was right. It arrived promptly.

Minuses - No installation instructions included with cartridge (it would have only taken one small piece of paper).
Even the on-line instructions did not say whether the machine should be "on" or "off" during installation. I opted for "on" and that worked fine.
There was a piece of orange plastic on the bottom of the cartridge with no accompanying instructions to, "leave alone" or "remove" - I opted to remove, since orange-colored things are usually meant to be removed. I guess that is the right thing to do since the machine has been working fine.
