5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE IT!!!!!, August 11, 2001

This review is from: Hewlett Packard G95 OfficeJet (Office Product)
I absolutely love it! I read all of the reveiws before buying this item, and was a little bummed. However my experience has been great! I hooked everything up and it worked right away. A week later, the JetDirect went out, and HP shipped me another one overnight! It prints great, it copies great, faxes great and scans great! I did made a copy of a photo that was just as good as the original photo. I also made a poster of the photo, and it was excellent. This is the best printer I have ever had. This is the best copier I have ever had, and the easiest FAX and scanner I have ever had! I very highly recommend this all-in-one device!!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Reaching For 5 Stars and Missing, May 11, 2001
By
Cranky Reader (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hewlett Packard G95 OfficeJet (Office Product)
I have small law office network (NT server, W9x clients) running fairly standard law firm software: Wordperfect 8.0, Timeslips 8.0, Quickbooks Pro and the Wingate internet proxy server (allowing all computers to have internet access across the network through a separate firewall and server).

As a printer and copier and as a scanner and hand-fed fax machine the G95 gets typical high marks for a Hewlett-Packard product -- 5 stars.

However, I encountered *severe* install problems and operational software conflicts when trying to use the unit as a network fax machine --which is, I think, its primary attraction. HP very much needs to get the machine's tendency to conflict with standard network-compliant software fixed and documented.

So -- only 3 stars from this reviewer because of the tremendous problems we've had getting this otherwise fine machine to work with our existing network and software. Although, we're back up and running this week...so far.

1.0 out of 5 stars One fatal flaw, May 4, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Hewlett Packard G95 OfficeJet (Office Product)
The HP GX95 and GX85 have one fatal flaw you should be aware of. They cannot transfer faxes to your PC. You get one copy on paper so don't lose it. When it is time to reply to the fax you will have to find the paper copy and type any infomation from the paper fax into your reply. Wait until they fix the software and put this transfer feature back in. It has been removed from the latest version but was apparently in an older software version.
