This review is from: HP Pavilion a1220n Desktop PC (Intel Pentium Processor 516, 512 MB RAM, 200 GB Hard Drive, LightScribe Dbl Layer 16X DVD+/-R/RW Drive) (Personal Computers)
Caution!!! The HP Pavilion a1220n DOES NOT come with Windows XP Media Center Edition as advertised. I had purchased this computer mostly to get the Media Center, boy was I surprised. Since it came from another supplier all I was told was that Amazon incorrectly advertised it. They could only refund my money (or let me exchange it for something more expensive of course).
I wasn't willing as I had spent 2 hours on the phone with HP just to get the thing started. Turns out it was shipped without a cable connected to the motherboard. I've lost a little faith in Amazon here.

I had to send this back because it came with Windows XP Home Edition and not Microsoft Media Edition as advertised. I got a full refund, but also a disappointed husband as this was one of his Christmas presents!

I am very pleased with this computer.
It is fast and really quiet --I can hardly hear it when it is working. There are plenty of USB ports, including two in the front part of the computer -- which makes them easy to use. The keyboard is also very comfortable. I am using it as a home computer, just to listen to music and burn CD, use Word, Excel or PowerPoint -- nothing really heavy and complicated -- but it works just fine for a classic use. Plus, I think it has a nice design.

With the population of Laptops computers these days it does make it seems like desktops will be put out of business cause you can't carry them around. Not to mention this one is not a flat panel. I still love this computer. It downloads fast. I burn cds and DVDs on my hardrive. The speakers play clear and loud. The mouse feels comfortable to move. Its also virius and pop up aid free.
