I had been trying to buy a Panasonic TH-50PX500U Plasma HDTV since 1/06 but there were none to be had. Panasonic doesn't release the 2006 models until at least 4/06. Not wanting to miss March Madness I discovered that the HP Pavilion PL5000N has the same picture, features, and sound that the Panasonic has. They get their tv parts from the same distributor. When my installer hooked it up to my surround sound system, he said the back of the HP was identical to the Panasonic and if the HP label wasn't on the front, he couldn't tell the difference. The HP is the real deal, costs less than the Panasonic, and you can find them available now.
