After using IBM ThinkPad for 6 years I was looking for something cheap because Thinkpad are not (Lenovo???). So far HP DV4250 works fine because I got this for half price of ThinkPad. 15.4 inch screen is pretty good (1280x800 and true color). Main thing performance is good and you can always increase RAM to 1GB but 512MB enough for general use. (I am software Pro and notebook is ideal for development work). Never played any game but movies runs fine and burner works great. Overall 4.5 out of 5.

So far I have enjoyed using my HP pavilion...it has given me no trouble at all. Wireless is great as well as speed and memory. I have not had a chance to use the DVD burner yet but am not anxious.

I have owned this laptop for almost a year now, and love it. I got it because I saved up some money from a Summer job (I'm 16).

I would call myself a computer person, so I naturally did research and found that this was perfect for me. It has an 80GB hard drive, which is good for a laptop like this. Newer, expensive laptops have huge hard drives, but 80GB is large enough for most people. It has a dvd burner, something I wanted in a laptop, and I've burned many dvd's with it perfectly. The 512GB of ram and the integrated graphics are good enough for casual use, as well as gaming. Only one high-graphics-requiring game was unable to perform on it, and many others worked great. I've never heard of a Pentium M processor before, but I hear it is equivalent to a P4. However, these days, with dual core out, 1.6GHZ is a little low, but it still works fine.

The remote that it comes with is perfect for watching dvd's on it. The earphones it came with were actually better than the ones I used with my MP3 player and are pretty high quality.

I've only had one problem with it. A little while ago, the internet "broke." Basically, some programs worked and others didn't (internet-wise). I tried many things and ended up contacting HP's GREAT customer service, who was able to fix my browser but not everything else. However, being a "computer person," I just backed up my files re-installed Windows, and it worked fine.

Overall, great for the price, but I don't get why it sais $1500 on Amazon... I bought it for $700 at Radio Shack. I don't know why the only Amazon vendors have pumped the price up...

no tengo tres meses de recibir mi cp y el mismo ya presenta problemas a nivel del cd o dvd desde hace unas tres semanas, quisiera una orientacion de garantia paraa solucionar mi problema
