It has a touchpad which takes a little getting used to as it is one whole sensor pad.
The keyboard is nicely spaced out but I'm used to the number pad and would've preferred it than some of the unnecessary shortcuts key to the left hand side of the keyboard
The fingerprint reader is nice and convenient touch to the operations of the laptop as it make things quick and easy to access
This laptop runs smooth and quick and I haven't had any problems yet. Although there is supposed to be 640 GB my computer only has about 600 GB which is still large and there are MANY HP software programs.
This laptop is also perfect for gaming. I play games such as Sims 3 and online games which show very clear and run smoothly.
All in all this is a very good laptop for the price. It has a nice finish with high performance and I would recommend this to anyone.
-Very fast processor
-Lot of memory on hard drive for price
-Keyboard has good, soft feel to it
-Very clear screen display - this was an issue on my old HP
-Offset keyboard due to buttons for calculator, printing, email, etc. on left - takes a little getting used to
-Single bar mouse click button - I've accidentally hit the right click a million times. This will take some getting used to as well
-The Amazon listing says 640GB, but when I right click on the drive, I only count 590GB. Might have something to do with how it's partitioned, or it's saving some memory somewhere else I can't see
- Lots of HP bloatware
Overall, I'd recommend this machine, but there are some things that do take some getting used to that I'm sure won't be an issue as soon as I get used to them.
Pros: Nice keyboard.
Cons: The unit runs so hot, the fan runs 90% of the time. About 13 months after the purchase - the hard drive crashed as well (possibly caused by all the heat not sure). HP was no help claiming I was 14 days outside the warranty. Had to buy a smaller sized HD (500GB) as the 640 was not available, then couldn't load the backup OS as the HD size was smaller than the original - even though it would have fit fine.
Recommendation: Not a bad machine, just stick with the Intel based line of CPUs (that don't run as hot).
The laptop also heats a lot... It began after 1 year, I don't know why!!! recently I just reinstall the OS, after that it didn't heat anymore, but after I update WIndows with lastests updates, it began again.... I'm afraid that the updates are behind this!!!
