Hp Pavillion,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: HP Pavilion dv7-4080us 17.3-Inch Laptop (Personal Computers)
So I bought this laptop yesterday and it arrived today. I only got to use it for an hour before I packed it up and sent it back. My caps lock button would turn on with each button press. Its rather annoying but Amazon is sending me a new one. Overall this laptop is very nice. Beware though, the touchpad is bad. Do yourself a favor and buy a mouse with this. On a very positive note, this laptop is fast and the screen is gorgeous!!! Buy it and a mouse, but beware of the broken caps lock.
Update!: Well my new on was delivered yesterday so I have had a little over a day with it. Its very nice. Like I said before, this puppy is fast. It runs MW2 perfectly. Although it does get rather hot. The keyboard is sweet and it feels perfect. The trackpad on the other hand is ehhhhhh, Its hit or moss most of the time. Overall I would highly recommend this to anyone in need of a cheap high-powered laptop. Buy this.

A number of people on here have complained about the mouse pad. It is true that the default mouse settings need some help. Here was my fix. Right click on "Show hidden icons" in the lower right hand corner of the screen. Select "Synaptic Device Properties." Select "Device Pointing Properties." Select the "Device Settings" tab. Make sure the "Synaptics ClickPad" device is selected. Click the Settings button. Select the "Pointing" element in the tree on the left. Under the "Pointing" heading, select "Momentum". Enable the "Momentum" checkbox to the right. Click "Apply." Poof, your mouse pad is now awesome.
This is a power-hungry, extremely fast beast of a computer, appropriate for video editing or C++ game programming. A number of people on here have complained about the mouse. Click "Apply." If you haven't worked on a 17" screen before, prepare to have a ton of screen real estate with this puppy. The display is sharp and bright. The i7 core plays nicely with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. Builds run in parallel on 8 cores and go hella fast. You'll need to get a new shoulder bag for it. It won't fit in your old one. Make sure it is a light shoulder bag. This geek approves of this laptop as a primary computer for geeks and developer types.

I've had this laptop a little over 3 months now and I can say I like it very much. The finish is nice and the processor is super fast. The laptop has tons of features. The only negative I would say about the laptop is the eject button for the dvd drive is too small for not only the avergae man but anyone.
