So, I got this PC after my old asus desktop kicked the bucket. I frantically looked around for deals on a new pc. Well, I originally looked at a deal for the same exact PC at Office Max. I couldn't force myself to buy it there, no qualms against the store. Then, went on amazon, same price, and everything. I ordered it on Friday, got it on Monday. Amazon shipped it very fast even though we got the free standard shipping.
As the title said, it does not come with wireless. Look closely at the description. It did not check off "Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g/n". But, that should not stop you from buying a decent desktop like this one. It is just a minor dent. Not an expensive setback. I didn't regret my actions one bit by buying this PC. Get an Ethernet cable and attach it to whatever you have, or get a nic. If you want a nic and not sure what slots the PC has, look on the data sheet.
In since my old PC died, I cannibalized the pci-express lan card and put it in the new hp PC. I know that doesn't work that way all the time, but it was very convenient and simple. If you purchase one, just make sure to have the right tools. This PC does not use Philip head screws.
tl; dr - don't complain about not having wireless when it said so in the description.

ABOUT ME: Computer Savvy and a female computer geek. My husband relies on me to handle all our computer issues in our business. This computer is awesome! It's fast and very easy to set up and use. The specs are great for the price! We bought one and are probably going to buy another for our small business office. The computer has EXCELLENT sound too. I could have done without some of the HP software pre-installed but it's no biggie. My husband is an insurance agent representing numerous companies and, mainly, one nationally-known insurance corporation. This corp has stringent demands and requirements that we must meet regarding our computer specifications. This computer meets and far excels their standards and spec requirements. I was going to purchase it on Amazon.com but before I could get my review done and make my purchase they upped the price from $380 to $455. I looked at Office Depot, Best Buy and Staples' websites. All except Staples were hovering around the higher price. Staples has it listed for $380 and so I will probably order it from them. What is the deal with Amazon changing the price before you can even purchase? I guess it had to do with how many sold within the time I was shopping and what sellers still had these in stock because Amazon first said they had 7 of these computers left and then, when the price changed, they said there was only 2 left - better hurry! Still - that gripes me. I do like to buy from Amazon.com. I have had many good experiences with them. If I do indeed get this computer for $380 as promised by Staples it will be an FANTASTIC deal for the specs offered on this computer. This was the first HP computer I've bought. I was a little skeptical but I LOVE it!... as long as it holds up for a few years to come and we have no problems with repair issues, etc.Read more ›
I am happy with the machine, but didn't buy it from the current seller. I bought it from Amazon, and a half hour after I bought it, Amazon had dropped the price almost 50 dollars. In retrospect, I should have just cancelled the order, but I didn't, but was prepared to not like it once it came. Well, I love it! I can't think of one thing I dislike about it. I had put the trial Windows 8 on my laptop, and liked it, so changed this one to 8 also. It was going to the area where my modem is, so the fact it was not wireless was not a problem. There are seven pc's in my house... six are HP.

I purchased this computer at Office Depot (better price at that time) but it is no longer for sale online there, so am reviewing it here instead. This computer is my sixth desktop since 1987 and my first HP. I telecommute for my job and we were upgrading our software, so I needed several more GB of RAM and a bigger hard drive. I looked at many units and found this one had the features and specs I needed, at a very reasonable price. I had read the many positive reviews, and I expected a great product. I wasn't disappointed! To physically set this unit up took about 5 minutes and it was good to go. I have a home network and it found the network easily and I was online in less than 10 minutes. I needed a lot of speed because I have to have several programs open at one time for work and do a lot of switching back and forth between documents, and this computer handles all that with ease and quickly, too. And quiet! If it weren't for the light on the front I wouldn't even know it was on. I also have to mention that I do a lot of typing and had been using an ergonomic keyboard, but the touch on the keyboard included with the computer was so good that I switched to this one, and can just fly on it!
There is one thing I would change about the design of this unit, if I could. After pressing the button for the CD/DVD drive door and it opens, the tray that comes out actually blocks the button to close the door again, and I have to reach up under the tray to press it. That wouldn't be much of a problem if the unit sat on my desk, but I have it on the floor under my desk, so to press the button to close the door I have to get down on the floor to reach it. However, I rarely use the CD/DVD drive other than to load software, and the difficulty in reaching it has to do with where I put the unit, so I'm not knocking off any stars for that.
A great value, a great purchase, and I'm happy with it!
