First 3MP + Point & Shoot,
By
This review is from: HP Photosmart 715xi 3.3MP Digital Camera (Electronics)
This was my first higher end point & shoot digital camera. I must say that first and foremost I was looking for something in the 3+ MP range at a reasonable price that took good not necessarily great pictures. I found out this camera exceeded my expectations.Did a photo shootoff with my spouse between this camera and the Canon Powershot A80 4.0 MP. The HP 715xi outperformed the Canon in varying modes, from landscape, macro, to color saturation and clarity. The 715xi was an earlier upgraded model of the 7xx series line of photosmart camera from HP and had it's limitations like washed out LCD screen, no movie capabilities, cumbersome bulky design compared to present day compact and ultra compact cameras. I really liked the simplicity of the 715xi, easy auto focus, CF I memory card, uses easy to find & buy 4AA batteries. Great simple camera, very good pictures, very reasonably priced. All what I was looking for in a digital camera. It has proven to be very reliable. Out of production now, sold this camera recently on Amazon, now I miss it. Bought a Canon Powershot G6. If you find one online somewhere in good condition, this would be a good buy for a back up camera or work camera. A good price would be less than $100 with shipping. Aloha!
