great photo printer,
By Rich D. "Rich D." (Sonoma, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: HP Photosmart A826 Compact Photo Printer (Office Product)
I liked this printer so much I bought two. The capabilities of this device are remarkable. I use it daily in my dental practice for many purposes. I just slide in an SD card from my camera and within seconds my photos are on the screen ready to print.
I gave one to our daughter who loves to take pictures. She places postcard labels on the back and sends them as postcards with her family photos on them. The A826 appears as a small computer, like an old Mac, and you can do onscreen editing such as crop, brightness control, remove redeye, place printing or hand writing in many colors on the photo and place multiple photos on one page. It prints on 4x6 and 5x7 paper. I recommend the 110 photopack at $35 and 30 cents per photo. I found a need to turn off a function I think was called Brightness Enhance because the skin tones were turning out too dark. Also, don't let the photos stack up since the ink is still wet when they drop out of the printer. I love purchasing from Amazon but if you are in a hurry to see and buy this printer Office Depot has them on display but I've never found an employee that knows anything about them.

Well worth the money!,
This review is from: HP Photosmart A826 Compact Photo Printer (Office Product)
I received this as a birthday gift and absolutely love it. It is a little expensive but I think it is well worth the money. The pictures have excellent quality and it is extremely user-friendly, even for someone like me who can barely put paper in a printer. I turned it on without reading the directions and it told me to insert the ink cartridge and the paper. I didn't even know where to start so I pushed the button on the screen that said "show me how" and it did and made it so easy. I have already printed so many pictures and love it!
*UPDATE* I have now owned this printer for a while and I still think it is by far the best photo printer I have ever used. I actually just used it to print out all my Christmas cards and was able to use the printer to crop the photo i wanted, add a caption, and put a frame on the photo...all on the printer. I will say there is one con and that is that the clip art selection is very limited, but I don't see myself wanting to add clip art to my photos that often so it's really not a big deal.

Home photo printer,

I love this printer, it's fun to print pictures for scrapbooks, giving grandparents etc. I wouldn't use it to print all pictures, just special ones that you might want to put into scrapbooks or give away in a timely manner. I haven't hooked mine up to a computer yet, but I am not sure I will. It's just fun to play with. The only trouble I am having is that it wants to feed a bunch of paper at one time, jamming it up. At times, I just put one sheet in at a time.
