I bought this printer on sale for $125 after considerable thought having seen its cheaper non wifi accessible cousin which is basically the same without the wireless access and in white. I have to say I'm extremely happy with my purchase. I have a desktop computer which is I plugged into the USB port and am using my laptop through the wifi so I can print off of 2 computers at anytime. It's good quality and comes with its own USB cord which a lot of the cheaper models don't. The set up is straightforward but for people who are unsure around computers the instructions can be kind of confusing. If you need to set up several computers it is better to have a wifi router but even without the printer can be set up to simply connect to a wifi accessible computer without going through a network. Hope that makes sense to any non "techies".In summary, this is an all-in-one printer for people with multiple PC's/laptops in the home looking for simple yet good quality printing.

I recently purchased the HP Photosmart C4599 because the last HP I had was an excelent workhorse. I had it for 6 years and only got rid of it because I was upgrading my computer. Big mistake. DO NOT BUY this product if you wish to use it wirelessly. I have had nothing but problems with it. Initially (first few days) it worked fine, but then it became unresponsive and the only way to get it to scan, copy or print was to unplug it and plug it in again. Pushing the buttons did not help - that got no response from the printer. I called technical support and was on the phone for FOUR HOURS and FORTY-FOUR MINUTES. Yes, you read that right. The tech thought he had solved the problem. It worked that night. The next day it was the same problem. I searched the internet for a solution and was unable to find one. A month later, I relunctantly called technical support again. They had no record of me calling previously and were unable to assist in solving the problem. I would have given the product zero starts if that had been an option. If you don't have enough frustrations in your life, then by all means, buy this printer to fulfill that area in your life. Otherwise, avoid this printer like the plague.

I have the same problems that other reviewer had with having to unplug and re-plug the printer everytime i want to print something, even if I just turned it on, it always freezes the first time I try to print.Scanning from this machine is even WORSE! If I try to scan something with even ONE window open in photoshop, an insane error occurs where error boxes continually appear and my computer makes that "BONK!" noise endlessly! I have to force quit photoshop and the hp scanning program, and unplug/re-plug the printer. Also, you cannot reduce or enlarge straight from the unit, it only gives you the option to copy at 100% size, or "resize with (or without) border". You don't even get basic options like 150% or 200%. If you want to enlarge or reduce something you have to scan it in and do it in photoshop (or a program like that). See above for scanning problems! I've never taken the initiative to write a negative review about a product before, but this thing makes me SO ANGRY, I had to write this one!!!!!!
