The Most Amazing Personal Photo Printer I've Ever Seen,
By New York Photo Pro (Cleburne, TX (South of Ft. Worth)) - See all my reviews
This review is from: HP Photosmart 475 Compact Photo Printer (Q7011A#ABA) (Office Product)
I bought one of these on a lark and am outrageously happy that I did. As a professional photographer with access to all the best HP, Canon and Epson equipment I spend a lot of time printing. However, when I'm doing family candids or holiday photos or other non-client related shoots, sometimes I'm just too darn lazy to want to fire up the "big" printers, meaning the 13 x 19" or bigger plus the computer. So, I just said "the heck with it" and decided to buy this because of the big price drop. Before I did, however, I went into an office supply store and did a side-by-side comparison of three HP models, an Epson and a Polaroid. The HP's all produced the most vivid, sharp, detailed prints hands-down. I went with the model 475 because of all of the features. The output on both HP Premium and HP Advanced paper is simply amazing, accurate and pleasing overall. Plus, it is so simple to operate, sans computer, that I may never be asked to print a personal sized photo again. There is no way that Eckerd, Walgreens, Walmart can ever compete against this. The images are that good. This is "instant" home photo lab in a compact box. You'll be up and printing in 20 minutes or less. You'll never want to "buy" another personal 4x6 or 5x7 print again. For 8x10's, for home use, buy the HP 8250. For bigger prints, go to a pro lab or buy a large-format HP inkjet printer.

Ink Cartridge Alert,
By KROB (Chatsworth, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: HP Photosmart 475 Compact Photo Printer (Q7011A#ABA) (Office Product)
This is really about the ink cartrige needed for this printer. Under the Product Description for the HP 97 ink cartridge, it states that the cartridge is good for over 400 pictures; it's not, it's good for between 90 and 150 pictures. After much discussion with HP, they finally told me that it's only rated for about 150 color pictures. You'll be going through a lot of ink cartridges if you have a lot of photos (vacation pictures) to print like I did, and they're not cheap. I appreciate Amazon's feedback when I'm purchasing products, so I thought I should share. The printer itself is great though.

I love this printer!! I took this printer with me to our family's Christmas get-together and it was a hit---now, I have birthday gifts to buy!!A printer will only print what you put into it. If you use the wrong type of paper and ink, or you are digital camera-challenged, the prints will not come out great. After taking shots with my HP PHOTOSMART R717 (which I love, too!!) I immediately plugged my camera into this printer, hit print and beautiful photos came right out. I have had no problems with this printer. I use the HP ADVANCED PHOTO PAPER for my glossy photos and MATTE PHOTO PAPER for Nature photos. In order to understand which paper to buy, everyone should read the paper's definition. Glossy paper will not really get the attention to detail, say in a forest shot, as would Matte paper. I am not a professional photographer, but I do love taking pictures. If you are a professional or you expect professional prints, then maybe you should spend the money for your craft. HOWEVER, if you are like me, and digital photography comes in handy at special events, then this is the printer for you. My cousin is a professional photographer and even he was impressed!! Be Blessed!!

Wonderful portable photo printer,
This review is from: HP Photosmart 475 Compact Photo Printer (Q7011A#ABA) (Office Product)
I chose this product amongst the myriad of portable photo printers out there because despite its small size, it is the only one that can print both 4x6 and 5x7 photos. It is a bit more expensive than others but the 5x7 and its compact size is well worth it. The Photosmart 475 also has the ability to store photos on it and view them on the 2.5" screen or the TV. Print quality is outstanding on HP premium plus photo paper. The printer has a real aluminum finish and an integrated handle that makes it very stylish. Kudos to HP for this wonderful product!

I don't know what that guy is thinking, this printer rocks,

I read one of the reviews and the guy complains about what happens if you get your pictures wet: your pictures are supposed to be valuable memories, things you care for.Do you get your non-digital pictures wet? I don't think so, they don't really look that great after you do it either. Take care of your memories and stop whining, and if you really have a problem with a couple of ruined prints, print again, that's the beauty of digital. I owned a Photosmart 325 for a year and I'm super happy, som much so that I gave it to a friend as a present and I upgraded to the 475. It's hands down one of the most fun products I ever owned, my wife and I take it to our kid's parties (or our own) and everybody has a blast, I'ts amazing on the go, but you can also hook it up to a TV and have a slideshow on it (remote control and all). I have two other printers at home, and I seldom ever use them for pictures anymore, this thing it's so much more convenient. not to mention how cool it looks. Great job guys, I can't wait to see what's next. In the meantime I think I'm going to buy the HP combo product for my mother, even her can use that.

Big Value in a Small Package!,

I have used my Photosmart 375 for over a year with great results. It is very easy to use and the pictures are consistantly excellent. I am really impressed with my new Photosmart 475, it produces the same beautiful output, only in 5x7 as well as 4x6. Just like the 375 it allows you to view, crop and frame your pictures right on the printer, before you print them. One of the many new features on the 475 also allows you to save images in the printers hard drive, so with the battery option so you can take it just about anywhere and store your images on the go!Great Job HP!

BEST PRINTS EVER!,
By Colby (Omaha, NE USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: HP Photosmart 475 Compact Photo Printer (Q7011A#ABA) (Office Product)
I was debating over the PictureMate, Kodak Printer Dock 3, Sony DDP-FP50, and the HP Photosmart 475. I made the choice of the HP and I LOVE IT! The prints are 4800x1200dpi and look like real lab prints. I use the HP 4x6 boarderless Premium Plus photo paper with the HP Ink and the prints are just wonderful. Forget the other bad reviews because this printer beats them all. (...) The HP produces bright, vivid pictures designed to last a lifetime. The PictureMate is also alot larger than the HP 475. The 1.5GB hard drive is a plus as well. HP said that the remote is not included but they lied, they come with the remote and battery. Overall, this printer is the best I have own.

This printer is everything I expected. It's small, light structure makes it so portable and it looks very innovative, but don't let the size fool you! I saw a picture from one of those Canon pict-bridge printers and it was grainy and dark, but my first picture from this printer just blew me away! It isn't lying when they say "photo-lab quality," because it really is--so clear and flawless, and the biggest plus: borderless! I have a Lexmark x2250 and it prints pictures quite well but the only way to get them to size is to print them on 8.5x11 sheets and cut them. The quality was ok, but not compared to this little box. I love it. And setup was a breeze. I consider myself a little knowledgeable in technology but even for those of you who don't know what an A/V cord is could figure this out. You don't even need your pc! Just plug and play! Directions are so easy to follow on screen and in the manual. Definetly a must-have.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: HP Photosmart 475 Compact Photo Printer (Q7011A#ABA) (Office Product)
I have the HP Photosmart 475 Compact Photo Printer. I think it is very easy to use. The reason I got it was that it would make it easeir to print 5x7 and 4x6 pictures. (you need ink from HP labled 97 tricolor. If you are printing black and white using HP lables as 97 black is good. (IMPORTANT!: When printing on the computer choose size as 4x6 or 5x7.) (It could cause a problem if you don't do this.) One last thing you don't need to use a computer to print on this! If you want to print 4x6 and 5x7 this is good for you!

Wow, am I loving the new HP 475. I had the 375 and used it to print all my snapshot photos, but now I can print 5x7's, 4x6's and panoramas on this awesome printer. The hard drive is awesome and now I don't have to take multiple memory cards with me. I just download them to the printer and print when I'm ready. Because of the battery, I take the printer with me to all of my cropping events so I always have my latest photos ready to go into my scrapbooks.
