First, a little bit of background information:
I purchased this battery, because I needed a replacement for the (now defective) battery that came with my laptop. The battery that came with the laptop (OEM battery) started off with about a two hour battery life and over the course of a year that number dropped to about five minutes worth of battery power. This was my own fault, as I did not know that leaving the laptop plugged in constantly would do substantial harm to the battery's longevity.

Now, after searching for a while, I found and purchased this battery because it was significantly cheaper than the replacement that HP was offering, and it seemed to be compatible with my computer (model# dv9933cl).
Here's my analysis:
- The battery arrived on time. So I have no complaints with the company itself.
- The battery was nicely packaged and on inspection did not have any scratches, dents, etc.
- Physically, the battery fits into my laptop, but part of it sticks put. It's very small, and unnoticeable, but it definitely sticks out of the battery compartment by a few millimeters. The OEM battery did not stick out at all. But this is a minor complaint, and it does not seem to affect the computer's performance in any way.
- The battery's life span, after a few test runs, seems to be around one hour and fifty minutes. Not as good as the OEM battery initially was, but more than I was expecting.

After owning the battery for about a month, I have no complaints. Obviously I'm being a lot more careful with the battery this time and when I have the laptop plugged to the wall, I remove the battery from the laptop in order to preserve its integrity. That way, hopefully, this battery will last much longer than the OEM battery did.

Bottom Line:
If you're looking for a battery to replace the battery in your laptop, and you don't want to spend the money that HP charges to get a replacement, then I suggest you get this one.

Although i have an HP Pavillion DV9000, the battery did not fit. The laptop latch would not close all the way and the battery fell out if laptop was moved. They refunded the purchase price - i'm out shipping (both ways) about $15 and i still don't have a battery:(

This is a fake but sold as if it's an HP product. I would not have bought it had I known. Works well in the beginning but dies much faster than the original.

Seller delivered promptly. Battery lasts as long, or longer, as the original battery did between charges. Fits in computer exactly as the OEM battery did. No complaints!

I ordered this as a replacement to a dying battery for my dv9700 laptop. I ordered it with next day shipping and it did indeed come on time. Upon opening the package everything seemed to be in order looking as a new product should with a quality control sticker and everything. Upon reading the instructions I placed it into my laptop to see if it would work or if it had any charge. While keeping he power supply plugged in the battery icon seemed to show but stated that the battery had no charge, then moments later claimed that the battery had 70% charge, then again 20% and continued to cycle through several different readouts. To see if it actually worked I unplugged the power and the computer promptly shut off. I then plugged in and restarted to see what happened and even tried replugging in the battery to which the laptop wouldn't recognize that a battery was actually plugged in. To check and see if it might be this laptop I then plugged it into another dv9700 model laptop my brother owns. In this case it worked unplugged but then after a few moments shut down. After running the hp battery check several times the performance ranged from not even recognizing the battery to bad to good.

I spent the weekend trying to follow the directions over and over and get it to function properly but there must be something wrong with the connection and considering the fact it is unreliable I have opted to return it for a refund. I was going to try a replacement however after contacting Amazon, who's customer service was great help, it claimed that there were no more and it was impossible to trade it for a new one. The odd thing is I then came on and in the amount of about 3 days the Amazon page for this product changed and the product now sells for $10 less. All in all a wasted endeavor but I need a new battery and may try another to see if the product can redeem itself as it is far more affordable compared to the $100+ hp replacement batteries.

All in all I gave it a 1 due to the product being defective on arrival which nullified anything positive about the transaction, not to mention the fact that it's unpredictable nature leaves the user vulnerable to losing unsaved data. I'd say buy it with caution and only if you don't mind risking your time and shipment money.

Delivery was fast...arrived 2 days after I oredered. Battery life, at best, is 90 minutes. I followed directions to maximize the battery life, but can't get it to last any longer. I guess you get what you pay for!

This battery works 100% as good if not the same as the one shipped with my laptop and carries the same length guarantee at pennies on the dollar. I went a year waiting for either place to have a sale, base price being $99-139 but did not want an aftermarket Piece with same guarantee and maybe have to mail 2-3 back before I got one that was expectable (happened more than once with aftermarket)then I found this battery for less than after market and 100% HP USA. I figured that this NEW battery would last at least 4 hours but much to my surprise it only lasts about 2 hours. I realize that I didn't by a battery from HP directly so I shouldn't expect it to last longer but I did. . . Oh well I guess it is better than nothing. Other than that, it works fine and was shipped quickly! That I like.

The battery was an identical replacement for the factory battery. The instructions for initial charging and use were complete and easily followed. The battery's performance is equal to the performance of the original battery.

This item isn't a genuine HP product nor is it a Lenmar product as stated in the technical details section. Despite the bait and switch I'm satisfied so far with the performance of the product. It fits perfectly in my laptop and it doesn't heat up like the original. I like the fact that it was Prime eligible and it was packaged nicely. The set-up instructions are clear and easy to follow. I'm a little antsy about using this battery since I don't know which company manufactured it. I'll just have to keep it out of my laptop when not in use.

I do hope Amazon does something about the lies about who manufactured this product. How do I know it isn't Lenmar? It doesn't have their logo, name or part number anywhere on it. A Lenmar rep confirmed that this isn't their product.
