This scanner was great -- while it lasted. Unfortunately, after owning it for only 16 months, the ADF broke, and the scanner always thought it had a paper jam. When I contacted HP, I was told that our one-year warranty had expired and that I would need to take the scanner to one of three HP-authorized, local service providers for repair. The HP customer service representative would not provide a price estimate for the repairs. And, unfortunately for me and for the local repair providers, the only scanner parts HP makes available for this model are the rollers; you cannot purchase just the ADF. Two of the three service providers told me that it would be cheaper just to buy a whole new scanner, which it what I will have to do. Needless to day, I will not be buying another HP.

Have had it only for two weeks.
Performed flawlessly; did both sides easily and rapidly.
Cleaned up my backlog over several sessions.
Scanned books and single pages accurately.
The only glitches were due to my learning curve ... too impatient to read directions.
Install a no brainer.
Short term report outstanding.

This scanner worked great for 3 years, then it suddenly started to scrunch words together (i.e., "set" became "st"). I tried everything HP recommended to fix the problem but nothing worked. I attempted to find someone to service it using the HP website, unfortunately, it kept directing me to an unlinked page.

I stopped buying HP printers about 5 years ago because they lasted about 1-2 years when only used for light printing at home. I do NOT recommend buying HP products.
