4.0 out of 5 stars Great low price calculator, July 25, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Another reviewer slammed this because it does not have the look and feel of the traditional HP calculator. Forget about him. This is a great inexpensive calculator. HP quality is not what it used to be anyway. I have one old HP-15C calculator that works beautifully and is 30 years old. Then I bought an HP financial calculator for $35 (an HP-10bII) and it broke after 1 year. Think of this HP-10s as a Japanese calculator with an HP label. It's fine, but not really a Hewlett Packard.

Since I first reviewed this calculator, I've purchased a 2nd. The display is failing on the first calculator. The "1" in the first position no longer displays. So this calculator has a lot of capability, but it is made with a poor quality display. I've reduced the rating from 5 stars to 4. It's still good because it's cheap, but don't expect it to last.

1.0 out of 5 stars calculator review, March 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: HP 10s Scientific Calculator (F2214AA#ABA) (Office Product)
I picked this calculator for
price
dual power - battery and solar

It works well enough.

I give it an unacceptable because the decimal point is nearly invisible.

3.0 out of 5 stars Key Feel, July 6, 2008

(REAL NAME)

I admit it, I am a calculator snob. I love the feel of the keys on HP calculators. I am picky about keyboard feel as well. Using a calculator or keyboard with bad feel, an entirely subjective subject to be certain makes me feel as if I am sticking my fingers in poo. It REALLY bugs me.

Now that you understand I am a loon about this sort of thing, key feel is the only reason I rated the HP three stars. If you too suffer this "feel" malady and are looking for a simple calculator go for the HP 6S Solar. Don't let the name fool you, it has a battery backup.

If you are a normal person you will likely be very happy with the advertised calculator.
