GOOD Ink -- and probably a better value !,

This is the ink I use in my HP Photosmart P1100 color printer. The results are super -- especially when used with HP paper. HP makes another cartridge that contains less ink and costs less: model# (SKU) C6578AN. The cartridges are the same physical size, but the amount of ink inside differs. Whatever you buy, be sure to store it UPRIGHT. That helps prevent bubbles or air pockets that can form inside which can cause imperfections on the printed page.

Price is the same as in local stores,

If you are looking for a good price for this cartridge there is really no discount here. The manufacture and other major retailers are selling it for exactly the same price.

Just a me-too of the other review. Quality should be a given, and that's here, but I'm still amazed by how long I've been using this cartridge. Dozens and dozens of high-quality glossies at photo-quality resolutions, all spectacular. (I'm using the excellent HP 970Cse, which I can also recommend. Double-sided printing is even handier than it sounds.) The other compatible cartridge has less than half the capacity according to the specs, so why bother?

too much,

I found the HP to be not as good or as sharp as an epson that I use at work. I'm also amazed that no one has commented that the color ink cart. is 20% of the cost of the complete printer. The three colors in one cartridge is a real rip-off. I'm replacing a cartridge for almost $50 that has most of two colors remaining.

18 dollars off? I don't think so. Only buy this here if you take the free super saver shipping. Otherwise EVERYONE who carries this offers it for 54.99 and doesn't even pretend to tell you that you are saving 18 bucks.

Just stick with the OEM products and you will keep your sanity, If you have not tried one of the "No Fail" refill kits, don't.

I've tried refilling my own ink cartridges multiple times. Usually I can get quite a bit more life from them after a refill. However, I found unpredictable failures with refills and the resulting print quality was not a good as with the HP cartridge. My photographs on glossy paper, and my routine printing on ink-jet paper, all seem crisper and better balanced (color and contrast) with the HP brand cartridge. I've tried the remanufactured cartridges with similar results. So, now I just look for the best price on the original HP factory-fresh cartridges for my DeskJet 970.

I use a HP Deskjet to print photos and pictures. The prints are excellent on photo papers or bright white Inkjet papers. It seems that the yellow ink always gets emptied the fastest. Also, the gray color has a blue tint that is difficult to adjust (maybe software related). The free ground delivery by UPS took only three days.
One lower price alternative to this ink cartridge is the remanufactured cartridge by Nukote available at Target or Wal-Mart (about $25). From the prints I could not tell any difference between the HP and the Nukote.

At a fraction of the cost of a new cartridge, this refurbished cartridge has performed flawlessly for over one month now. A great product at a great price!
