HP Two-Sided Duplexer Printing Accessory for HP Inkjet Printers (C8955A#A2L)

Attached it to a HP 7150 and it works wonderfully. Extremely easy to install. Contruction is very similar to that of the printer. There seems to be a longer than usual pause to let the ink dry before the printer flips the page over and prints on the reverse side.

The price is steep, but as would be expected for a HP accessory. If you do a lot of two sided printing, this accessory is a major convenience.

I bought this for an HP 5850 a while back and just purchased an Officejet 7210, which to my delight, it also fits. I love this item. It does take a bit for the ink to dry, but not an unreasonable amount of time. I bought mine for far less than the retail price, but even at retail, it's worth the money.

I have always purchased HP's for myself and my company, and always had two sided print. However, when I purchased a second HP for myself, I thought that feature was included in the system. But, surprisingly, it did not, and I learned that HP markets this feature separately for about $80. The reason I like the duplexer is because it does save paper, great for greeting cards, easy to install, and allows card stock. However, it will not support support 8 1/2" x 11" photo paper (Big Time Jams). Its support center puts you through a number of ineffective steps, but in truth there is no way to solve that problem. The duplexer sticks out 2 1/2" in the back of the printer.

This works great; arrived before expected.
Would absolutely buy from this merchant again.

i save so much paper.. i just snapped this unit on..and
set a couple things in the printers software and printed both sides. This unit originally sold for eighty dollars...and at nineteen dollars plus shipping you cannot go wrong.

I attached it to my HP 7150 printer and it works great. The only draw back is that it dramatically increases the time it takes to print. I am sure it has something to do with the drying time. Other than that it has cut my paper usage in half and I recommend it.

First off, I can not leave any comments about the actual product due to the wrong information that is given in the product description on the Amazon website. I have a HP Photosmart D7160 and after reading the product description on the amazon website I assumed this model would be compatible. After ordering it, the product is NOT compatible with my printer. Now I have a new paper weight!!!

This product has cut my paper consumption almost in half by automatically printing on two sides. The physical install is easy and is described in the manual. The only tricky thing is that to enable automatic two sided printing you need to manually enable recognition of the duplexer in two different places. The manuals do not tell you that you must do this and hence you have to try every path that allows you to set printer options and features. Once you do that it works great.

Popped in easily, selected two sided in the print dialog box, and it worked!
I wish more printers had this option. Think of all the paper/trees it would save, and it makes papers twice as light to carry around.

The Two-Sided Duplexer is a cheap, plastic piece of junk. It is not made with any serious quality, at all. There's no way I would recommend buying this device.

Secondly, my experience with HP in dealing with a replacement, was not easy or pleasant. The representative was incompetent and was not able to troubleshoot the matter. I spent nearly an hour on the phone with this person and after giving out all sorts of info, the rep. was supposed to send me a replacement. Two months later...I still had not received anything.

I called HP Customer Care and found out that they had, for some unknown reason, cancelled the order. Nobody knew why. Anyway, then they told me that since there was only a 90 day warranty on the Duplexer and I was out of warranty, I would have to pay for shipping costs!! I explained to the rep. that the only reason it was out of warranty was because they had failed to send me the replacement!! In fact, the Duplexer was under warranty when I first contacted HP about the problem.

The rep. said that he had to turn the matter over to a "case manager" in order to see what they can do to resolve this issue. So more time was spent. Eventually, the matter was not resolved to my satisfaction and the replacement did not work right either.

In the final analysis, the Duplexer is not worth the money and is pure junk and HP's tech support is very poor. My understanding is that HP out-sources their customer service and tech support. This makes for a difficult conversation because these reps. don't speak English very well and their comprehension of the language is made more difficult when you're trying to explain technical details. To make matters worse, the first rep. I spoke with sounded as though this was her first day on the job.

Lastly, HP is screwing over American workers and not serving its' customers very well by out-sourcing its' tech support jobs. In the future, I will be looking to computer manufacturers who keep as many jobs in the U.S. as possible.
