Make sure you know the correct adapter for your camera,

This review is from: HP 9 Volt AC Adapter for PS618 and PS912 (Electronics)
This adapter does not fit the HP Photosmart 715 camera. I just received it, and thought it would fit all HP digital cameras, as it isn't specified otherwise in the listing. I don't know which HP cameras it fits, but it's not the Photosmart 715. Some more information is needed under this product listing regarding which cameras this adapter is suitable for. Save yourself some return postage!

According the the back of the box, this adapter is only for HP Photosmart models 618, 912. Of course, I only found this out after buying it to use it with a Photosmart 315 model, which it doesn't fit!

If you have the HP 618 and need an adapter this is exactly what you need. Tired of replacing your batteries after only 15 minutes of use in the camera? This will take care of the job for you. Especially for downloading your images to your computer. This adapter will not short out your camera as someone has mentioned that it did. I'm sure in this case there was something wrong with their camera.

Caused the camera to short-circuit,

Don't bother. After searching forever for an adapter for my PS618 camera I finally found one for sale here. During its first use the camera shut down and, after an hour on the phone with HP tech support, I discovered that it was this piece-of-garbage adapter. No wonder why very few retailers are offering this item.
