5.0 out of 5 stars Genuine HP
This is the large sized replacement ink cartrige. It's genuine HP out of the box...IT"S NOT a refilled, re-sold, ripoff. Good ink at nearly the best price around with reliable Amazon shipping.

Amazon has a "great" price on this when compared to other stores. That isn't the issue. The issue is that the HP printers do not actually detect the level of ink in the 88 series of cartridges. They incrementally decrement their "estimated" volume based on use and TIME. So if you don't print anything the volume will still go down. Also these have an expiration date,...

Also these have an expiration date, once the printer detects they are out of date, you guessed it, the printer won't print even if they are full of ink. A typical refill of all 4 cartridges is one hundred to two hundred bucks. If you try to use a cartridge again by refilling the printer will remember the serial number and that it was "empty" and not allow it to work back in the printer. I've had great luck with HP printers for 20 years but my last one is a dog on the ink and there is no way that you are getting out without big bucks to HP. It's cheaper to buy a new Canon printer of similar capability than to replace all 4 ink carts in the 88 ink series HP printers. So scrap these ink carts and just go buy a Canon MX series for about the same price as replacement ink.

I bought this ink after reading the company claim that the ink is NOT EXPIRED or old, which I found to be false after opening the package it arrived in. The boxes therein were splattered with ink stains, partially crushed and dirty (from age) and had an expiration date of over a year ago. The packaging itself is dated 2007. Don't buy this ink (HP 88XL) because it will foul up your printer! STAY AWAY!!!! False photos and false description!

1.0 out of 5 stars Good Cartridge....but the WORST shipping ever, November 19, 2009

I ordered 3 of these cartridges (1 yellow, 1 cyan and 1 magenta), Asked amazon to group it into as few packages as possible, and what do i get?
A Plastic bubble wrap lined envelope with 3 cartridges in them, where the cartridge boxes almost changed shape to match the cartridge inside them.
This is by far the worst experience i've had so far from Amazon (probably because they decided to ship it with UPS)
Hope the next purchaser has better luck than i did....
