This Laptop is not for everyone. It is large, it is a bit heavy, so if you plan on traveling a lot with it, there might be better choices.

What it is, is a very fast Laptop, with a huge battery that one can do desktop work on for hours on end.

They rate the battery life at 10 hours...don't know if that is true, but 6 hours was easy.

It has a lovely, large screen and very nice keys.

This is our car travel laptop (we have a small computer for long distance use), and our remote video, photo processing computer.

Nice computer that does exactly what one would expect.

I had to have the keyboard replaced on my computer (my fault, not the machine's), and HP customer service not only did it fast, but also replaced other components with better ones while they were at it and gave me an extra battery.

Other than that, I couldn't be happier with this computer and I've had it since February or so. The aluminum body is slick and it runs very cool. It's very light for its size and has great battery life (8 hours on mine). I use it to play some games, too, and it does fine with most popular game titles. For the price, you can't beat it!

A friend who is an IT bigshot recommended this computer to me as an excellent value for the price. I like the machine very much. True, as laptops go, it is on the large size. Therefore, it would be better to think of it as a portable work station. I like the size because of how comfortable that makes it to use the keyboard. If looks matter to you, the computer's beautiful design will appeal to you also.

This notebook has far exceeded my expectations. Windows 7 has proven to be one of the most stable operating systems Microsoft has ever made, and this notebook has it. Along with the amazing Windows 7 OS, the AMD A8-3520M Processor flies with any program you throw at it. As if it wasn't enough that is was fast, it also stays super cool. The HP CoolSense keeps the processor cool, and the laptop quiet. I know many people with other notebooks that complain about it heating up so much that the keyboard is hot to the touch, but this computer runs so cool, you couldn't melt an ice cube by the cooling fan. Okay, I'm exaggerating, but it runs very cool nonetheless. The beatsaudio(tm) is nowhere near comparable to any other laptop audio on the market. You want to hear your music's full potential without having to plug in speakers to make it sound good, and make it loud enough to hear? Get a notebook with beatsaudio(tm). The microphone and HP TrueVision HD Webcam make for amazing video chatting. There is even a little light on the side of the webcam eye, so when it senses low light, it turns on to make you visible in dark places.

Lets talk gaming. I am a gamer, so I want good performance when I'm not at home, and want to play my games. This computer shines here. With the AMD Radeon HD 6620G Discrete-Class Graphics, I can turn up the settings on most games to a medium-high setting with no lag whatsoever. I play Guild Wars 2, World of Warcraft, Diablo 3, Fallout: New Vegas without a problem. Now, since I'm not at home, I also want battery life. I couldn't ask for anything more out of this machine in regards to battery life. I get, on average, 3-4 hours of gameplay on World of Warcraft, while I'm unplugged, and fully charged. While I'm searching the web, I don't even know how long I could run this thing, since I have never had it die on me. I have searched the web and listened to music for hours on end, and let it sit while out of the room, and it's still going when I come back. I have NO complaints about this machine, it has served me so incredibly well over the last year and a half.

IN SUMMARY: Great picture, great FPS, great speed, great battery life, great webcam, great audio, runs very cool, Just a phenomenal piece of machinery by AMD and HP. I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone. I want to try others out, and I will cry the day I sell this machine.

Love my new laptop. The fingerprint reader makes logging in safe and super speedy. I'm not sure what a "quad core" is but it is the fastest laptop I've ever used. I don't game so I can't speak to that. For an all-purpose PC that can replace a desktop, I recommend it highly. Lots of nice features for the price. It looks expensive with the brushed steel case.

Pros: -almost everything, it awesome.

Cons: -front corners have some speaker slots with tiny thin plastic that cracked possibly on transport or when I first picked it up. Its a lip that is about an 8th of an inch thick(STUPID DESIGN) but doesn't effect the performance.
-the remote control is not compatible with this model.
-needed to buy ram upgrade and external blue ray burner separate.

Note: know what your buying
-It's a desktop replacement and had a raised bottom so it must be placed on a desk. can't use it on your lap.

Screen just stopped working about 10 months after purchase. Did not pursue due to private info on computer. Thought I would let folks know as I was going back and updating info on past orders.

So far, so good. I've had this for about 3 months now, and it's an excellent machine. It's much more powerful than my desktop. So far I've used it for video editing, music recording and editing, digital art, internet, etc. etc., and so far it has worked well--and in most cases much better--than my old desktop ever did. I'd recommend this as a good mid-level machine for all different sorts of production.

I do have a problem with Beats audio--which seems more like a gimmick than anything. It doesn't always improve the sound quality (the onboard speakers aren't really all that bad--and there is a subwoofer). In fact, Beats mostly seems to push the bass and treble tone controls all the way to the max levels. If you turn off Beats (disable it), it automatically pushes the bass and treble tone controls all the way to zero, as if to make you think that disabling Beats actually kills the sound quality. But after disabling Beats, go back into the sounds control panel/Windows volume mixer and move the tone controls to desired level, and you'll see that Beats sound and the "normal" sound are about identical.

As it is, I generally turn off Beats when I record music, and use headphones a lot when mixing--which has worked great.

The processing power is amazing, compared to what I'm used to. It processes HD video extremely well, and it's been great for video production. It's a very fast machine with a very decent amount of RAM.

I have very little complain about this. It's a beast that works like a boss. And for the price, can't complain.
