I bought this replacement charger in June. In mid-July, the base came apart and shocked me. I taped up all the sides with electrical tape and it continued to work fine. For the last couple of days it has been shorting out but it would still work if I repositioned it. Well today, I was sitting on my couch charging my computer when I hear something pop. I looked over and the charger had a little flame on it. Now I have a black mark and hole in my couch. I wish I would have spent the extra money in the first place and bought a reliable replacement from an electronics store because that is what I have to do now anyways.

If I could give this zero stars I would. It did not work for the HP Pavilion. It didn't charge and it caused my laptop to lock up every time.

This charger conked less than an month after purchase. The charger light is still on, but the connection no longer charges the laptop.

I recently bought a replacement cord for my laptop. I got it home and it worked fine for a few min then it died! It fell apart a when I was trying to get it to work, thats right folks it fell apart in the first few min i owned it. I'd advise people to look elsewere for parts.

From the thank you card osprey-talon sent with it I'd guess this happens a lot "the first unit was defective, no power output. they promptly sent a replacement...."

Buyers be Warned.

Cheap and fragile, currently is being held together with duct tape, but is still working. This gets hotter than the OEM but is significantly cheaper, so....spend money on another one.

I purchased this from Smart Parts USA back in Aug of 2008. Within a month part of the adapter broke and I needed to send it back for a replacement. It is now June of 2009 and the adapter is fried and is completely useless. I wish I would have spent the money and bought directly from HP.

The charger has been working fine. It does what it says it is supposed to do, but it does feel cheap.

Be warned, this charger gets really hot, really fast. I wouldn't leave the room while this charger is running.

Definitely feels like a knockoff. It gives off a quiet squeel sometimes and it does heat up a bit, but it has lasted me a long time. If I could do it over, I'd still buy it.

Product worked for a few minutes; then stopped working - returned for refund. Refund process went smoothly.

Hello, Ace charger, cheap and works just fine. I broke the original charger at the laptop and best buys need $80 for a generic replacement. This charger was custom fit. 25.00+4.95 shipping Update 10/21 still operating.Update 12/8/08 the chargers case came apart.Note 1st piece of duct tape. still operates.UPDATE 9/22/10 it burned out:(
