This review is from: HQRP Laptop AC Adapter for Acer AcerNote 350 370 500 950, Aspire 1200 1410 1640 1650 1690, Aspire 2000 2010 2020 Aspire 3000 3030 3040 3100 3600 3610 (Electronics)
Dead on arrival. Looked nice. Actually looked better constructed than the Lite-On adapter that came with the Acer laptop originally. But, looks can be deceiving.
It didn't work. It put out zero volts. (I tested it with a volt meter.) It was bereft of life. It was pushin' up daisies. It was a dead adapter.
I'm returning it for a refund.

I'm on my second Acer Aspire laptop. My first one (purchased September 2005) was (and is) a great laptop and it cost less than $600 back in the day. However, it's hard on cords. I don't know what the issue is, but I've been through two cords on this thing. And then I purchased a second Acer Laptop (May 2008) and it's on its third cord, too. For a time, I used the cord from the new laptop for the old laptop and that worked. But then both cords wouldn't work. So I purchased a replacement cord from eBay and paid nearly $20 for it.
The replacement cord arrived and I was disgusted to see it was some chinese-made crap and it bore little resemblance to the original. It looked cheap and came in a plastic bag and I knew I was in trouble. I plugged it in and within 60 seconds, the cursor started acting very jumpy and erratic and was nearly impossible to control. This had never happened before and I knew it was the cord/transformer. I unplugged it, fearing that it was damaging the computer.
I tried it on the older Acer laptop (Windows XP) and the problem was not as pronounced, but it was still evident.
SO then I came to Amazon and took a chance on this HQRP product and paid a little more but when it arrived, it came in a real package and it looked like it was better quality and looked more like the original. I held my breath after I plugged it in, but voila! It works!
As I type this, that cord is in use and is doing the job. No telling how long it will last, but I'm probably going to buy a second cord - just in case. And about those Acer Laptops, I'm not sure why they go through cords so bad - but they do.

I ordered this as a replacement after I got my foot tangled in the original cord and bent the pin. First unit came and worked ok for 4 months then faded out. I am on the second now and will be interested to see if it suffers the same problem
