If your tungsten E2 is out of warranty this is worth a try. When my tungsten wouldn't turn on after 4 months of use I was upset. the warranty was 90 days. I decided to risk seeing if it was the battery. This product comes with the needed screwdriver (be sure to buy that version, because it is sold without it as well, and video directions for changing the battery are available online (do a google search for tungsten E2 battery and the video directions will show up - USE THE VIDEO!). My palm sprung immediately back to life! Do not remove the plastic cover of the battery itself (that should be in the directions, but is not).
I am not experienced at this sort of thing, and I could do it. You need to be a little adventurous, but the video really guides you. Or take it to a friend! Palm will charge way too much for this out of warranty.

I got this item today. The battery is fine -exactly how I needed. The screwdriver is awesome, too. But... where the heck is the 'Universal Screen Protector'? It wasn't on my package! The only thing I've got beside these two items is a plastic bag -and I know for real that IT IS NOT THE SCREEN PROTECTOR. However, I just needed the battery. Put the screen protector on your next order, guys, if you want us to stay confident in your products.

This worked great for my Palm Tungsten E2 PDA. The screwdriver made it very easily to install the new battery.

I have a Palm Tungsten E2, many years old now, but still used daily. I knew the battery was coming to the end of its useful life, as it would not hold a charge for more than a couple of days. I ordered this kit and am tickled with the results. The screwdriver fit the slots perfectly and the battery, after charging, keeps my Palm going just like new. The real challenge was getting the old battery out, as it's stuck down with a pretty strong adhesive. The inclusion of a small tool to apply some leverage under the battery would have made this kit perfect. I did go to You Tube to watch a demo of the battery being changed and felt confident I could proceed. This was necessary as there were no instructions included. When you go to You Tube, don't get sidetracked by the video that talks about soldering - wrong video! The most necessary caution was to keep the Palm back-facing-up during the entire process so you don't inadvertently dump the contents out onto the tabletop!

This is a good replacement battery for the PALM Tungsten E, however, you should be aware of some caveats:

1) It's a very tight fit, almost a little too thick for the device. When you close the lid and tighten the screws of the PDA, the casing actually bulges out a little.

2) The battery has a connector (plug) that needs to be removed (very easily done with scissors or a pocket knife). Once you've done that, you'll need to solder the exposed cables to the PDA's motherboard.

3) The removal of the old battery is a bit tricky because it's glued on the inside to PDA, so you almost need to rip it apart. I recommend using a plastic "spludger" for leverage, which can be purchased cheaply online (Don't pay more than $2 for it!).

There are several online step by step installation instructions if you search for "PALM Tungsten E Battery Replacement" on any search engine. The process requires a bit of work, but the hand-held works as new once you've done it, and it's probably something you won't need to do again for a very long time.

I did this with six PALM Tungsten E's we use at work in about 2 hours, and now they're working flawlessly.

This replacement battery ends up working in my device. However the tool that came with it did not fit, and there were no directions or minimally a note to suggest visiting a website to install. I was able to undo the screws with another tool, but could not get my Palm Pilot open at all. (It was sealed.) I would have wasted my money and not been able to even use the battery if it weren't for my daughter's help! I contacted the company before that, and they said they would send the right tool.It never came. I suggest if you are looking for a replacement battery for your Tungston E2, do not use this one.

The item arrived promptly and the battery was the correct one and works fine. However the enclosed special screwdriver was the wrong size and could not be used. Fortunately I had the correct screwdriver from a previous battery replacement so was able to proceed with the replacement.

This really was a snap to do. The screwdriver is a key to making it easy so if you don't have the special screwdriver be sure to order this package since the screws of the E2 have a unique slot. The hardest part is separating the two halves and if you are just patient and work around the edges slowly it separates nicely and is no problem in putting in the new battery and closing the E2 back up. Even if you have never done it before you are looking at no more than ten minutes tops from start to finish. I used a very small common tip screw driver to separate the halves but some people use the blade of a pocket knife. Just don't push it in too far and work it around the whole parameter. If I can do it anyone can do it. The new battery worked perfect and presto I have long term battery life again.

Was not sure that it would work out well for my Palm but it did great, easy to change as well

Good product, good service as promised. As I was traveling with I needed it, the inclusion of the Torx wrench was particularly handy.
