5.0 out of 5 stars Very Helpful Guide for HR Managers, August 22, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: HR Metrics The World Class Way (Paperback)
The recent movement in human resources management is to quantify the value of the HR department. No longer satisfied as a necessary evil, the world class human resources VP, director and manager will strive to prove their value to the CEO.

This is not always an easy task as many of the activities within HR are seen as merely that - an activity, not a result. HR seems to be very adept at generating activities but not contributing to the bottom line. Anyone that has worked in human resources for any length of time will be quick to point out that we do contribute to the profit or loss. Sadly we have been slow to exhibit our contribution.

This is where this book comes in. While it may not contain all the areas of needed measurements, it is an excellent place to start. By following the lead in this book, you will be able to quickly (a few weeks) validate your existence within the organization as a value-added department versus a drain on profits.

I highly recommend this book to anyone in HR that wishes to prove their worth. Michael L. Gooch, SPHR Author of Wingtips with Spurs
