The biggest drawback for Nickel Metal Hydride batteries is the shelf life. I got gadgets and toys all around the house, so I constantly charging batteries to have them ready when I need them. There will be very little juice left if you put them in the shelf unused for a couple of months. A waste of time and energy. Hence, one of the biggest advancement in battery technology is the arrival of the new low discharge Nickel Metal Hydride batteries. This is another great step in helping the environment. I have very few left of the old batteries since I started to replace all of them with low discharge batteries. Eneloops and Duracell are 2 of the best of its kind.

Pros:
-Low discharge.
-Well constructed
-Conventional size and dimension. I had other batteries that I have to use a screwdriver to remove from my camera because it is fatter than other "AA's".
-Looks so sleek and sexy designwise

Cons:
-More expensive than ordinary NiMh
-Not available at many stores
-Maxes at around 2000-2100 mAh

I highly recommend these batteries for use in digital cameras. My camera would barely get 40 photos from my 2500 mah batteries. These batteries come pre-charged and hold their charge for months. Out of the package I got 81 photos, before I gave up. The batteries still had charge left in them.

Save yourself the trouble of researching and just get them. They work great. I used them for photography flashes and they are well regarded in the photographic community.

I rarely make a big deal about a product but I think these batteries are extremely well made and dependable, I use them for my external camera flashes and they do great and last for hours. Since the first time I bought eneloop batteries I have never bought any other kind of battery and I always recommend them to friends and family.

I went to India a few months ago and one of my travel companions' camera used AA batteries, he had to buy new disposable batteries at least once day, then I loaned him some of my eneloop batteries and they would easily last him 4 to 5 days of taking numerous photos, he was so happy with them I never got them back, haha!

Ignore any comment on price, these pay for themselves so easily it's a non-issue. These have such a long storage life (where they do not self-discharge much or at all) that they're ideal for things like remote controls or cameras - things you want to pick up and not find they've drained themselves while the device waited for you to use it.

These are my only battery source now as I've committed to not using disposables anymore.

I got these for the Wii because that thing chews up batteries like no other. The big advantage here is that unlike traditional rechargeables, they don't go dead if I don't use the Wii for a week or more. Even work ok for cameras.

I'm new to the recharging world and someone should have kicked my fanny a long time ago and had me buying these sooner. I have a Fenix TK 40 flashlight and Fenix LD 20 flashlight. They both put out a very strong beam of light and I guess would be capable of eating AA batteries for lunch. I'll never know. Any time the light gets dim, I recharge! These batteries do last a long time before recharging. Get the recharging kit. With all the game machines, remote controlls, computer mice and keyboards...you'll save a ton of money in the long run.

I have been using these batteries for over a year in our kids toys (cordless game controllers, etc..) and am amazed how long they last, i'll never buy standard batteries again.

These batteries are the best batteries on the market. They last super long and are competitively priced! We use them in game controllers, and they are perfect because they last for hours of gameplay and are quick to charge. Buy them!

Just charge them and they are ready
