The caller ID is stunning, especially in dark environments.
Now to the bad. This case ain't protecting jack. It does not cover the right areas and doesn't encompass the phone entirely.
If you bend the flap back to do some texting, when it goes back to close it doesn't sit flat on the phone; it sits slighty ajar.
In direct sunlight consider the dots useless, as there is a film between the phone and top of the case that dulls the screens output. ***One Week In*** Completely useless in sunlight.
I believe that this case is so expensive because your paying for both the logical and physical components of this feature. Currently there isn't any support for anything besides the native apps, which moots the ease of access thing HTC is pushing. I'm sure in some update there will be some type of added functionality.
If you don't get the voice dialer right on the first try, the prompts will then require you to look at the screen.
When the screen is active and case is closed, The case provides time and weather, call details, and volume status.

This case is a true love hate. After many days of solid use, it's grown on me in a weird way.
The case refuses to sit completely flat.Read more ›
HOWEVER, I'm returning mine. When in the case and laying on its back, the flap stays open and just bounces there. This is extremely annoying and the only way for me to see the features is to force it down. That completely ruined the usefulness of this case. This hasn't happened to everyone though but buy at your own risk.
If yours sits flat then be happy. This is a great thin case with a really nice simplistic design. Where form meets function, this is a great 1st party case, I just wish mine would sit flat when I have it closed.
First things first: The picture of the black case is a little misleading. The case is definitely grey (the same grey that all the other retailers picture.) HTC does not offer black or dark grey. I would say that this grey compliments the gunmetal grey of the phone.
Now, you will like this case if:
You know how to hang on to your phone and are just looking for something to protect it from scratches.
You don't like screen protectors.
You sometimes like to use your phone with a case, and sometimes without.
I am that type of person, and that's why I love this case. I've always hated screen protectors, and they won't work with this case (the cover won't close enough). This case provides minimal protection against drops, but that doesn't bother me because I can hold onto a phone and I'm always conscious of what surface is under me when I'm using it. The case is easy enough to put on and take off, so when I want to show my beautiful m8 off, I can take it out.
TEXTURE: The back is about as slick as the phone itself, however, the front is very grippy, and I always set my phone face down so this keeps it from sliding around on the table or your lap. It can make it a little difficult getting it out of your pocket, however. But only slightly.
COVER: No, it's not the ipad cover with a magnet that holds it in place. It springs shut, and upon first getting it, the cover didn't seem to close all the way, but it gets a little more pliable within a couple of days, and I haven't seen much of a problem with it closing.Read more ›

I am sure this works amazingly with Android devices, but it does not work with my Windows Phones 10. I am sure that it will eventually, but for now it will be returned.Published 22 days ago by Aaron Cunningham
This is actually a pretty flimsy case and doesn't hold up very well, but the Dot View feature is interesting and earns a few compliments. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Kevin King
No protection offered, kind of a hassle to use for taking pictures.Published 2 months ago by Tim Brustad
Great case, a little gimmicky, but able to use in class without distracting those around you. Being able to flip the case around makes a great stand in horizontal mode. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Raphael Casas
At first I was very disappointed with this case. It would stay ajar and thus allow a lot of dust onto the m8 screen. This was actually my fault. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Andrew thelongdivider
Fun cover. However I've been through 3 of them. They tend to rip at the fold. Does everything just how it says it should though, durability is lacking.Published 2 months ago by sean whittaker
I couldn't do it anymore, I had to throw it away. The dot view is neat at first, that is until you decide you want to use your camera. Read morePublished 2 months ago by M. Evans
