Talk to Sprint beforehand. It's a sure thing they can make the transition relatively seamless for you. They are used to gaining customers from other carriers (and losing them to competitors too!). On the affinity discount: Sprint offers this also. I had to provide ID in-person in a Sprint store, and it takes one or two billing cycles to kick in.
