Not the Right Fit,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: HTC EVO 4G Sync & Charge USB Cable (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Just as a previous reviewer stated, this cable is not an easy fit into the phone. But it does go in with a little pressure. When I used it to connect my Evo the computer, my computer would crash. So I've decided to you this cable as part of the wall outlet, and I use the cable that came with the phone for computer charges. I would suggest NOT buying this cable and looking to buy a different brand. As for me, since this cable does charge the phone, it's not worth my time to return it over the $3.00 I spent to get it.

Not charging at all... from my PC or Evo Power Adapter.
There is some thing wrong with this cable. When I use the USB cable comes with the phone, it is charging. But when I changed it to this cable, it is not charging at all (but it is showing it as charging.. connected for 2 to 2.5 hrs .. no change in the battery charge) I have contacted them thru this site because there is no contact #. I am waiting for their response... Thanks -AG

Version from seller Bargain Cell NOT compatible with the Evo,

The version I ordered was from Bargain cell. I don't see that name attached to this sale anymore, but the version I ordered was false advertising - I ordered two of these and the micro-USB end of the cable has two protrusions on top which prevent the cable from fitting the Evo.

Me and the wife both have evos. We both have chargers. I have 2 of these cables - one for home and one for work. During a trip, her charger got this cable as opposed to the stock cable. I didn't think much about it but we started having issues with her phone charging to 100% over a couple of hours, but if we left it on overnight it was down to 60-70% when we woke up.
I installed juiceplotter / juiceminder / juicesomething (free from the marketplace) and looked to see what was going on and sure enough it would charge to 100%, sit there for a bit and then stop charging. We swapped her charger and cable to another one, it worked fine, I assumed the charger was bad and put it aside for the next time I headed over near the sprint store. I've been having some issues at work where a USB hard drive kept dying. I swapped the drive, same issue. Swapped the drive case, same issue. Weeks later (today) was doing ok and copying 200 gigs from one USB drive to another, plugged in my phone to the USB hub and noticed the USB drive that has been working fine died. HD light on solid, drive disappeared, and computer started running badly. Unplugged the cable from the USB hub and bam, everything starts working again. Now, this could be coincidence. There could be something wrong with her USB charger and something wrong with my evo and the way it talks to a USB hub at work (I have the exact same everything at home) but I think it's the cable. I noticed with the other cable that it was not suitable for syncing - it did charge (for a while) but if I put the evo in HTC Synch or disk drive mode it never came up. So, as soon as I can find a USB diagnostic program I'll post the results, but for now I'd say spend a couple more dollars and get something else --- ok, quick USB diagnostic took a month to get to. Batterymonitor widget reporting these numbers Real HTC charge cable 395ma positive (maxing out at 438) Off-brand car charger 312ma positive This cable 2ma positive - I moved it from a powered USB hub to the computer thinking perhaps there was something afoot. Same after 10 minutes 2ma with the screen off and 80% charge.

You people weren't lying. This cable does not charge the phone. I ordered two, neither work. If you plug this in to the AC Adapter (tried many outlets, many AC adapters) the phone will show that it's plugged in, but will not charge.
GARBAGE.

Buyer Beware! It appears this is not the right cable (& this may explain the extremely low price). When the cabled is plugged into the EVO, the 'charging animation' does display and it appears to be charging. However, when the cable is unplugged, one will see that the battery has not been charged. I tried two of these cables & both exhibited the same behavior. I've told the sellers, & told them to stop selling them. It's fraud. The cheap price worries me & is quite suspect. This cable should go for at least $10, even $30 retail. At their $2...it's possible they are just "dumping" them at a price that the average buyer will just not even bother to attempt a return & just "eat the loss". They did refund my money though (likely in hopes that I wouldn't write this review).

It does not fit the EVO at all. There's no point of applying pressure and seeing if it would. Please do not buy this as it's not compatible. I'm surprised to see that it worked for some.

Not sure of other reviewer that said cord would not fit into EVO. This cord I received fit the EVO fine. Only problem was that the computer would not see the EVO when using the cable and it would not charge it either. And when connected to the original mfg AC connector, the phone would not charge either. Cable jsut plane didn't work for me. Requested refund from vendor, but if others have had success, I'd be glad to consider a replacement.

Like others have reported, this cable will not actually charge your phone. The phone will indicate it is plugged in/charging, however the battery will not actually charge. Switching back to the original HTC brand cable resolved the problem (on both the wall AC charger and car charger), so it's pretty clear something is wrong with this cable.
