UPDATE: January 30, 2007 ~ I ordered and received the HTC Universal Tool Stand and I am just as pleased with it as I have been with my grinder stand. I am using the Universal Tool Stand for my Werner Vise. It fits with room to spare for anything else I might need when using the vise. The ability to raise and lower the tables is great. ~ The Boss
The assembly of the lower legs onto the stand was terrible. As one (or more people) said below, you need to drill out the holes in 4 of 12 bolt holes to accommodate the hardware. The lower legs were not bent due to shipping. It looks like the holes were either drilled in the wrong place, or the steel was not bent to the proper angle.
The packaging of the item was great (not Amazon's packing, but the original factory packaging). The item is of considerable weight and made it intact all the way to Hawaii. Styrofoam is what packed the materials together, and there were no damage to any of the pieces.
It is obviously well designed; the manufacturing is pathetic. The non-English instructions are incoherent - designed to cover a myriad of products. There were many parts missing in our shipment. The assembly bolt holes are considerably off-center. The (poor) packaging has been described elsewhere. A most distressing part was that many items were rusted to include over-coating of rusted materials. Redrilling, sandblasting, and recoating to what we suspect to be the original designers intent yielded a wonderful bench grinder stand.
If you wish a project to reinstate a wonderful machine designer's dream, buy this stand & you will be very well served. Otherwise, search elsewhere.

Was very surprised with this thing. Its pretty light compared to other heavy grinder stands out there, yet still very stable. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Lando

Excellent stand. The crank handle isn't a crank handle, though. It's a handle you tighten down once you have the base at an appropriate level. All my pieces fit together nicely. Read morePublished 10 months ago by Steven10
