Harnessing the power of Windows Vista Business and Microsoft Origami Experience 2.0, the HTC Shift blends advanced wireless connectivity with a sleek design that is half the size and a fraction of the weight of a standard notebook.

The HTC Shift provides the best of both worlds--a 7-inch touchscreen and full QWERTY keyboard.

It incorporates a 7-inch touch-sensitive screen that you can tilt to a convenient viewing angle and a full QWERTY keyboard, ensuring that you'll be able to input text and write emails or messages comfortably from any location. A built-in fingerprint sensor is provided for increased security. Other features include a 40 GB hard drive, SDIO slot with hotswap functionality, color CMOS VGA Web camera for video conferencing, up to three days of battery life, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 60-day trial version of Microsoft Office.

The always-on push email ensure that you have instant access to your Outlook emails without having to boot to the operating system, and the long standby time--up to 2 days while using push email--ensures you'll stay on top of all your business needs. You can be sure that your data is safe with the built-in biometric sensor and software, which allows you to log into the Shift using your fingerprints.

The HTC Shift features the power and connectivity the travelling, busy professional needs. This is the first device to feature HTC's innovative new SnapVUE technology, which provides instant access to emails, calendar, SMS messages, and contacts without the need to fully boot up the device--helping to conserve power and extend battery life. It's also a great multimedia companion, utilizing Windows Media Player 11 to provide easy access to music, videos and photos.

The 7-inch touchscreen can switch between two resolutions--800 x 480 for menu navigation and 1024 x 600 for easier Web browsing, and the Shift includes a toggle button along the right side of the bezel to enable quick resolution switching. Video is powered by the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, which uses Intel Dynamic Video Memory Technology (DVMT).

In tablet mode, you can navigate the touchscreen via your finger or the included stylus, or by using the integrated "micropad" touchpad on the right side of the screen and pressing buttons on the left side of the bezel to mimic the use of a mouse. The screen shifts up to reveal the QWERTY keyboard, and it can be tilted up so that it resembles a small laptop.

This is the best investment I could have ever made,Taking my personal computer with me also talking to people on it are incredibly awesome....That person that wrote the other review needs a lesson on computers because mine Smokes!!!!!!!

this is one of the worst combinations of hardware and software, unresponsive, unproductive (which is the opposite of what this as a mobile device should have been), the collective time waiting for this crap to respond to even simple commands is staggering, htc and microsoft do not give a damn about the hundreds of thousand of hours of wasted time lost waiting for this thing to respond, all they care is about themselves, not your lost time or money.
