Great fan for the price I paid,

This review is from: HUNTER 22564 54" 1912 Mission Ceiling Fan New Bronze W/ Light & 5 Rev Dk Cherry/Dk Walnut Blades
I bought this fan online for less than 1/2 the price (of what appears to be the identical fan) at Home Depot. Although the brand; name (1912 Mission 54-inch); specs and appearance are identical, the model number is different. There may be some difference in the two fans that I didn't see.
For the price I paid, this is an excellent fan, however I wouldn't say this had I paid 2x more at Home Depot. Assembly was straightforward, but took a little time. After wiring the fan, it has to hang from the ceiling while the wiring (and in my case the remote receiver) is stuffed into the cover. This can be difficult without a pair of extra hands. Appearance wise, I like the overall mission design and the square-edged blades. It makes for a unique looking fan, if Mission style is the intended look. I was somewhat disappointed in the lack of color of the stained glass, however. In the photos, it shows a variegated orange/yellow glass. The glass in my shade was more of a single yellow with very subtle hints of orange streaks. Not bad, but not as nice looking as in the pics. The quality of the blades disappoint me. They are clearly a vinyl 'woodtone' laminate as opposed to a real wood veneer like on the blades of upscale fans. This isn't huge, and I'm probably the only one who notices this, but these blades are the only vinyl 'woodtone' in this room or adjacent room. One other complaint: I took great care in properly installing the shade, however its construction was 'skewed' a bit. When properly installed, there was a disproportionate amount of clearance for the blades on one side of the shade to the other. I didn't realize this, and when the shade 'settled' after a few hours of operation, the inside of the blades began to chafe at the shade. Again, minor. I was able to carefully bend the shade a bit to eliminate the blade chafe, but there are now chafe marks on the inside of the blades. I plan to contact Hunter and ask for another set of blades, as I would consider this a small defect - not incorrect assembly on my part. All in all, a very nice fan for the price that I paid.
