1.0 out of 5 stars Not a very good product, June 16, 2008

This product is cheap in price and cheap in design. It is a crank spinner and gets caught all the time. It takes forever to spin anything out and is made of cheap flimsy plastic. This is ok if you are only spinning out a few fresh herbs but anything else and it is not useful. I am getting ready to buy the oxo.

If you like your salad spinner to actually DRY the salad greens, this one is the best. I had one of these for years and it finaly died so I went to replace it. I couldn't find it in the store, so tried the pricey, fancy spinners and returned them all because the greens were still wet. The secret to getting the greens dry is the drainage holes at the bottom. You need to spin the greens in the sink and you can't use the outer bowl to serve the salad, but that's why this little gem works so well. As long as the water is collecting within a closed system, the greens will keep getting wet as you spin them. That's why the others don't work well. I'm so happy I found this online. This spinner is the winner!

4.0 out of 5 stars Clanky but gets the job done, April 20, 2009

I have had this spinner for years and "upgraded" to the oxo spinner.
The OXO spinner failed in comparison. This one may be a bit "clunkier" but it gets the produce drier and doesn't warp in the dishwasher like the oxo does.
Nothing fancy here, just good, dry salad every time.
If I had to choose between the 2 spinners, this one would win, hands down.
