5.0 out of 5 stars I love mine!!!
I received this item as a gift last christmas. We loved it. We are avid wine drinkers and collectors, mostly reds though, so I did not have alot of space in my wine fridge for whites (and the temp is set for my reds). This was a great gift for us, I find it gets VERY cold VERY fast. It even puts a little more chill on my wine than suits my palate, however, my husband...

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not work well to chill wine quickly
The description does not tell you that you still have to add water to unit in addition to the gel packs. I chilled my chardonnay for seven minutes and it was still warm. I had to chill it for 20 minutes to get it cold enough to drink. Gel packs don't allow you to chill several bottles without having to refreeze them or add ice to the machine.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does nothing in 7 minutes, April 27, 2005
This review is from: Breville WC15XL Wine Chiller (Kitchen)
I tried to chill my white wine in seven minutes and it was still warm. They say chill, but what does that really mean? They should say what temperature it chills to in 7 minutes. I guess that is why they have a 15 minute timer. Also the description does not state that you have to add water so it is just as messy as an ice bucket and as much work.

2.0 out of 5 stars Chills okay, but "chill cells" are oozing., August 19, 2005

The product works ok, but then we don't like our Chardonnay super cold either. I'm not so sure that an ice bucket filled with ice and water wouldn't do the same thing in just slightly more time. (You might want to try that before buying this chiller.) My primary reason for writing this review is to say that after about 3-4 months of intermittent use, the chill cells are oozing out freezer gel. They say it's "food safe", but nonetheless, that shouldn't happen. I'll contact Brevelle & hopefully, they'll make it right.

2.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre, January 2, 2005

I bought this on a whim, as a gift. It's certainly not all it claims to be; neither is it a total failure. Ten minutes gives you reasonably cool wine.

In my book, three stars is a typical, average product. This gizmo loses a point for being $50 instead of $15.

I too am very shocked at the low stars for this product. I am trying to find more to give as gifts this year.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm a fan, July 18, 2006

I have had this for about 6 months now. I don't know why it is getting such low ratings- I love it! It chills wine very quickly and very fast. I now can have white wine at my leisure. The chill cells are great and convienient, but I'm sure ice would work just as well.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's just an ice bucket with circulating water, February 11, 2007

The major difference between this and an ice bucket is that it uses solid chill cells instead of ice. It circulates water, but I don't see what difference this makes. Bottom line: It didn't chill my wine any faster than an ice bucket full of ice and water. I ended up throwing mine away.

This product didn't do anything more than sticking the bottle in the fridge would have done. We've returned it to the seller and hope to get our money back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Add cool or ice water...it's comparable to commercial product, November 7, 2008
This review is from: Breville WC15XL Wine Chiller (Kitchen)
It's a fantastic product that I've been using for over two years. It impressed a winemaker so much that I'm giving one to his fiance for her birthday. It does chill faster when plugged in, but also works well cordless. Best way to use it is to place chill cells and bottle, then add cold water or put a few cubes on top. It's way better than chilling in an ice bucket and also works nicely for serving by just dumping water out after wine is chilled.

4.0 out of 5 stars Breville chiller is great!, May 31, 2008
This review is from: Breville WC15XL Wine Chiller (Kitchen)
This is a fantastic chiller. If your cells are very well frozen, the chiller does work as advertized. I have used this chiller for 3 years on regular bottles and magnums of wine, as well as other bottled and canned beverages. I love it!
