2.0 out of 5 stars Not good in the wind
While I like the size and look of this umbrella, it is not very good in the wind. Also, the handle shape is such that it does not fit snuggly into the umbrella holder on my push cart.

This review is from: Haas-Jordan 68-Inch Hurricane 345 Tour Plus Umbrella (Sports)
From spine tip straight across to the opposite spine tip is 59"; mid-panel edge to opposite edge is 54". Folded length is 42.5".

Spring loaded cup near the shaft bottom retracts while you squeeze the spine tips together then let it out to hold them. Has attached wrap around velcro strap and a separate sleeve to slip over it once it's folded, twisted and wrapped.

"Burled wood finish" looks more like oddly tarnished brass. Comfortable rubber grip. Seems sturdy enough; If I was still a kid I'd be jumping off the shed roof with it.

Ran a strong magnet along it and only the small latching bits and cup spring are steel, the rest seems to be fiberglass which would be less attractive to lightning.

Got the black for $20.25 because the other colors are over $40. Calling it a "Hurricane" umbrella is comical; any wind will make this big thing a handful. The golf towel bar is just a finned rubber sleeve over one of the spreader struts. I would have given it 5-stars if not for the deceptive size claim.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but get the folding version instead, March 1, 2011

Haas-Jordan makes a Haas-Jordan 58-Inch Folding Golf Umbrella that I use a lot more often. This umbrella is so large that you really need a reason to use it. If you're going out in a heavy thunderstorm, then use this umbrella. For trips to the office or lighter rains, I would use their folding golf umbrella. It's not quite as large as this one, but when folded it is much more convenient.

I am enjoying it: I have never been so comfortable under the umbrella: you know, you walk under heavy rain and you DON'T get wet.

And by "don't get wet" I mean "you don't get wet as if you were driving", not the usual "your shoes and pants soaked, but your hat is dry!"

It's BIG!
It's presentable.
Perfect if you have to look formal.

Feels very solid. Has special "airholes" for the wind, so the wind shouldn't be able to damage it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, May 6, 2011

When we first got this umbrella we had a little gathering to awe at how large it was! It's so light as well. We use this regularly to walk the kids to the bus. Occasionally someone else forgets their umbrella and there has been plenty of room to share and invite them under ours. The winds openings seem to work okay. We bumped it really hard against a pole once and it flexed and popped one of the fabric end caps off. This is a good thing though as any other umbrella would have just tore or bent the spines. We just popped it back on and away we went.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy it!, January 27, 2011

It was very poor quality. I returned it ASAP and went to the nearest golf store and bought a high quality one. This one would never have made it through a Hurricane. It barely made it through a small rainstorm.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality- handle broke with first use, November 17, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
We bought two of these. One has lasted a few months so far, but hasn't really been used much. The other one is a different story--the handle snapped on the first use. I wasn't able to return because I had thrown the box away and I couldn't find another box that would fit it, and for the cost it wasn't worth it. I would spend a bit more and get quality instead of this.

5.0 out of 5 stars golf umbrella, December 8, 2011

This is a wind buster umbrella that is large and fits nicely to my golf bag. Live in Louisiana and umbrellas are a necessity. I believe I will get a lot of use from this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the bus stop!, October 9, 2011
We bought this umbrella to use on those rainy days waiting for the school bus and it is fantastic! Very sturdy and durable and it's big enough for me and all three kids to fit under! I highly recommend this umbrella.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great umbrella, huge box, September 6, 2011
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The umbrella is still going strong after months of use. Very high quality, worth every penny. The vents at the top work to prevent wind coming up and inverting the umbrella very well. Highly recommend. The only weird thing was that the umbrella came in a huge box. You could have fit 20 of those umbrellas into that box, very strange...
