4.0 out of 5 stars Time To Eat!
I purchased this product for my daughters' play kitchen. Both of them have enjoyed it. The product brings more realism to their "cooking." With this purchase, you get a half dozen wooden eggs in a cardboard carton. I only wish that the size of the actual egg was a bit larger, but they seem to fit well in a toddler's hands. Just keep an eye out for a toddler's mouth!

3.0 out of 5 stars eggs are cute but carton is flimsy
The eggs are cute. Small my one year old daughter can get them in her mouth. Not recommended for small children or kids that like to put things in their mouths. My son likes to "Boil" them and make hard boiled eggs for us. The carton they come in is just like regular egg cartons and it will tear easily. Ours is still in ok shape and we have had it for a year but only...

My two year old LOVES these eggs. He has been carrying them around ever since he got them. He loves to take them out, put them back in. They came quickly with no issues. Of course, with Haba quality. They are a beautiful addition to his play kitchen.

The only two small things negatives are I did not pay enough attention to the size of them and they are small enough for my son to get in his mouth (and proudly shoot them out across the room) and the adorable carton they came in is already falling apart.

5.0 out of 5 stars pleased with this one, August 9, 2006

I found this purchase to be in reality what I expected it to be from the advertising photo. It is a reasonable size (the eggs are 1 1/2" long), and likely to stand up to many years of play.

I wish I would have read the negative reviews before purchasing - these eggs are TINY - they look like eggs from a sparrow or some other kind of bird, definitely not the size or shape of chicken eggs! They have a really weird smell too - almost like wet elmer's glue. I am returning them right away.

1.0 out of 5 stars not worth the money, July 10, 2009

I bought this over a year ago for my toddler. The carton tore apart within a week. The eggs do not look at all real. They're little wooden ovals painted white, and they are tiny. This is a total waste of money, it's absurd they charge this much. The carton is not even as durable as a real egg carton. Don't waste your money!

When my 2 year old granddaughter opened the carton she stuck one of the eggs in her mouth.
They are very small and a choking hazard. The half carton looked like a regular egg carton size but the eggs are not. The eggs should be larger. The picture showed some large and some small eggs and the carton she received had all the very small eggs. When I ordered them I did not see an age recommendation or choking hazard lable. So my grandaughter gets to play with the empty carton. That was a disappointment for grandma to hear!

We love our HABA eggs! They are a little smaller than real eggs but are realistic. Great for imaginative play.

For those saying "These are too small, my 2 year old put them in his/her mouth", well, the toy is clearly labeled ages 3 and up so that isn't HABA's fault...

These eggs are pretty...shiny...and smooth. But they are a little larger than a Robin's egg. Not life size chicken eggs at all. And the egg cartoon is made of cardboard. I bought these to go in my kiddo's toy kitchen that she will be getting for Christmas...so I'm not sure yet if the size will be an issue for her. I don't expect the carton to last long though. Pity. :(

5.0 out of 5 stars nice addition to haba play food collection, October 1, 2010
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars

These little eggs are so cute and are very well made. They are perfectly smooth and the wood grain can be seen through the white stain. They are just the right size, any larger and they wouldn't fit in play pots and pans to be 'cooked'. At $9 they really are a good value for a haba play food, many haba foods of this size and similar shape, like the lemon, are $2-3 each.

I give the set four stars rather than five because of the carton, a sturdier carton would be really nice.
