5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT TOY, WILL LAST FOREVER!
I jumped the gun a little and bought these blocks when my son was about 8mo old. Even though this toy is recommended for kids of about one year, my son still spent considerable time examining the cubes and mouthing them. What I like about blocks in general though, is that they can grow with your child - add different shapes and colors later on and the kid can build so...

3.0 out of 5 stars Small
These blocks don't actually have a round ball embedded in them, rather they have concave lenses. It works just as well but I think the ball would have held my little ones attention a little longer. The blocks are very small, I envisioned them being a little larger than they really are. So far the only one to explore them are my one year old, my other two children...

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT TOY, WILL LAST FOREVER!, April 16, 2009

I jumped the gun a little and bought these blocks when my son was about 8mo old. Even though this toy is recommended for kids of about one year, my son still spent considerable time examining the cubes and mouthing them. What I like about blocks in general though, is that they can grow with your child - add different shapes and colors later on and the kid can build so many things with them for a very long time. The educational value of blocks is very great, because they can become whatever your child imagines them to be, as opposed to the toys already shaped as objects. Plus, these blocks will last forever, for my next child, and then to be passed on to someone else!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great addition to haba building blocks, December 22, 2009

I found these to be great blocks as an addition to a building block set. They add color and a bit of texture to the natural finish blocks we have from HABA. The size is a bit small so making sure to supervise the chewer is a must. Overall, a great purchase that will be used for a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Size to Compliment other Haba Block Sets, July 19, 2011

Some people are saying these are too small. I do not agree however because they are just the right size to compliment other Haba building block sets.

I purchased these for my daughters birthday to go with the Basic Building Blocks Extra-Large Starter Set that she is also getting.

I do wish that they had filled the box with blocks as there is room for 3 more blocks. However I am happy with my purchase and received exactly what I was expecting.

I ordered these for my son who has autism. He loves visual input so I thought these would be perfect. I had the image of standard sized building blocks in my mind, so I was disappointed when I opened the package and found tiny- and I mean tiny blocks. Still very nice, but so not worth 35.99.

I just received this set of blocks in the mail today. I have to admit, I bought them more for myself than for my son as I recall always enjoying playing with prisms as a kid. I also thought that one day there would be considerable educational value to these blocks (development of color vocabulary and sense of light vs. dark). However, I'm afraid they won't make it to when my son is 18 months. The wood felt really lightweight in my hands and the edges were still rough. I'm confused as to why I paid this much for this particular set. I actually feel rather foolish for doing so.

Was a bit expensive but decided to buy them anyway for my cousins twins. First impression they did not care about it. Looks like they have pointed edges which made them a bit dangerous as one of the twins started using them as hammer on the other one. So may be not the best gift for twins.
