The moment my grandson saw Lukas he grabbed the doll and began giving his "baby" hugs and kisses. As you can see in the photo I supplied, he mimics the things his parents do that delight him - in this case he has crawled into his stroller with his baby and his "latest" favorite library book, and as any good daddy would, is reading the book to his baby.

HABA's Lukas doll is ideal. The size is perfect for a toddler and there is no hard doll head with the potential for an unpleasant surprise "whack" when a child is attempting to hug or kiss it. The facial features of this wonderfully soft doll are printed on the fabric so there is no potential choking hazard. It is a simple, safe and lovable soft baby doll sure to delight any toddler - boy or girl.

It is too early to rate the durability, moreover, how does one rate the educational value of a toy meant to allow imaginative play while reinforcing the loving relationship between a parent and a child. I believe this comes under the category of being "priceless" and it will endure no matter how "durable" Lukas proves to be.

Lukas and the other soft dolls made by HABA should be at the top of the list for parents of toddlers looking for their first doll.

Our six year old, autistic son is extremely particular about his toys therefore, I hesitated in purchasing this doll from Haba as we were unfamiliar with the nature of their products. Well, Lukas has been in our possession for nearly three months and I may safely say he is worth every dollar spent! The body is constructed of a sturdy canvas fabric and firmly stuffed. His hair is chenille securely stitched into place, and the face is fully embroidered. The outfit is well made from cotton and cotton knit blends with velcro closures. The vest is fully reversible too. Note the image here displays laced shoes however, our doll came with velcro tabs. The toy mouse is an added bonus because he contains a jingle bell, which is very nice as it's not high pitched electronics. 'Mouse' is constructed of plush, cotton and cotton knit fabrics with an embroidered face. On two occasions I have placed Lukas, shoes, etc. into a regular cold water wash with other plush toys and followed that with a low temp. tumble in the dryer for 80 minutes without difficulty; all came out flawless. Overall, this high quality doll is perfect for young boys... no fuss, no frills. I shall certainly purchase Haba toys again.

I bought this for our son's 1st birthday, but wasn't sure if he would play with it yet. To my surprise he has really taken to it. He watches his big sister play with her dolls and he hugs his Lucas doll, gives kisses and even puts him in the doll stroller for a ride. I think it teaches him to be gentle and not tear up and throw everything. I'm very happy with the purchase.

This is a wonderful doll for little boys. Lucas is adorable and safe. My son holds Lucas as he gets his diaper changed and hugs and kisses him. he comes with a little mouse that rattles with shaken and a little vest you put on and remove. My son is now 11 months and smiles whenever he see this doll, which we received as a shower gift. It;s the perfect size for little hands and boyish enough for daddies to allow their sons to play with.

I got this because of its name, and also because it's a boy. How often do you see a cute boy doll in the store? almost never! The size is a little smaller than I expected, maybe because it's on a slender side. Overall this is a good one with cute face and soft hair. Part of his body is a little too hard to cuddle for me, but my son doesn't mind. It's a doll boy enough for a boy. He has been asking for a doll forever but most of the cute ones are designed for girls so when a boy holding them it looks a little odd (to some dads). But this one is very neutral. Like it a lot!

I haven't actually seen the toy, but thought it was adorable from the picture I saw on the Amazon website and sent it to my 1 year grandson for his birthday, I am told that he loves it. It also provided comfort for him when he went to the allergist to have blood work done.

I knew that Lucas was 12 inches long but somehow I pictured him bigger in the size of his body, head, and limbs. My son has a teddy bear that is 12 inches long but looks much bigger when put next to lukas. Anyway, considering that, I feel it was overpriced. we had some 12 to 14 inch doll clothes that I thought would fit lukas but no such luck! My son likes him ok but prefers bigger soft toys like his teddy tear. That said, Lukas seems well made and is really cute just a little too small. If I had seen this doll at the store, I wouldn't of bought it because of the size and price.

We purchased this for our 10 month old granddaughter. He is well loved and tolerates much abuse (tugging; dragging; chewing; and pulling). A perfect first doll for a young child.

My son has loved his doll for over a year. The stitching on this doll has held up really well on both the body and the hair. His clothes have washed well and aren't a pain for parents to put back on. The shoes are velcro now instead of the tie laces pictured. It's a great size doll for a toddler or bigger kid too. This is a quality doll. I just bought another doll from this line for my daughter too.

Our family has never been disappointed with Haba toys! My son needed a "baby" to tote around just like his big sister. Perfect size to play with and having removable clothes keeps him playing like his sister. Lukas is a well-made doll.
