We bought these for our daughter's first birthday. She enjoys picking them up and putting them down and is attracted to the bright colors. Her favorite use for them at 13 months is to chew on while teething. She's still too young to do much actual "building" with them, but my husband and I enjoy playing with them. They would make an excellent gift for an older child.

These are relatively sturdy high quality wooden blocks. Our Chihuahuas have managed to destroy a few of them, but they appear to be impervious to our daughter's banging and chewing. They appear to be safe and well-made and I have no concerns about letting her play with them. I would purchase them again and have requested that her grandmother buy her a second set for Christmas.

For the price and number of blocks I was expecting a much larger box. The total dimensions of the box are 7.5" cubed so this isn't a medium to large set like I was expecting. Still, I guess it's enjoyable for the baby.

I like this kind of traditional wooden blocks with a good quality. Hope my baby will love it as well. He's 10-mth old now, I think he still needs to wait for another 2 mths to play with it.

I purchased these blocks for my 8 month old. He loves putting every piece in his mouth, so I appreciated the non toxic paint and the fact that it was not made in China. This brand is manufactured in Germany. The colors are a nice mix of primary colors and the painted blocks are smooth. Some of the plain wood blocks have a rough edge, but with a little rub of sandpaper, they are good as new. This was a big hit.

you can NOT go wrong with haba blocks. the paint is extremely durable, chip proof and holds it's vibrant color even after extreme use. easy to clean. it's hard not to love these blocks.

We purchased these for our daughter for Christmas, and this is truly one gift that will grow with her. She's not yet old enough to build with the blocks, but enjoy handling them and knocking them down. The pieces are big enough to be safe for little hands, and the paint has stood up to her chewing on them. As she gets older, these will be good for reviewing colors and shapes as well as stacking, building, etc. All in all, a great first set of blocks!

I love HABA. Love blocks, they're a must for all children. But I was disappointed with the size of the box when it arrived
