I bought the Haba Knight magnetic puzzle for my 2.5 year old which is similar to this one, but no longer available on Amazon. First of all, if you are looking to buy this product because you think it is made in Germany - it's not. It is made in China and unfortunately more and more of the Haba toys that I buy are being made there. Second, I tried out the pieces before I gave it to my son to make sure the pieces would all fit together easily - they DID NOT. They fit together so tightly that some of the wood was chipping no matter how careful I tried to be when taking it apart and it was very hard for me to recontruct the puzzle. What I ended up having to do was to take my rotory tool and sand the connections of every piece. This made them fit correctly and easily. Then I had to take some craft paint and try and match up the places where the wood chipped off. So if you have the patience and the time, this is a very neat concept for a child's puzzle. The picture underneath is the same as the puzzle but with a few differences. My son was delighted when he noticed them. But the downside to the matching picture is that my son quickly figured out the puzzle and it wasn't as much of a challenge for him. However, it will stick to the refridgerator, dishwasher, etc., so it can be put together in "neat" places for toddlers and without the matching picture, which can make it more challenging.
