Solid new album,
By Allister Fiend (Baltimore, MD United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Habeas Corpus (Audio CD)
I first came across Living Things when they were on tour opening for the Brides of Destruction at a dumpy club in Baltimore MD. There was something about the LT's that resonated with me,so I tracked down their debut LP which is pretty good. The new one, "Habeas Corpus" is even better.
I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. The bottom line here is that the album is packed with catchy, simple songs that will grab your attention the 1st time through. There really isn't a bad song in the bunch.

Living Things, Finding Their Groove.,
This review is from: Habeas Corpus (Audio CD)
I have been anticipating the release of the new CD from Living Things for a couple of months now. When I stubled on their first CD, it was by mistake. The old days of spending a day in a privately owned record store and just listening to anything you want seem to be long gone, in my part of the states anyway. It was a great way to find new music. Now music video channels do not play videos, and the radio is just a waste of electricity. Ok, with all that being said their first CD was good, but it wasn't great. They we're still finding themselves musically. Politically and as a rock and roll band I believe they have never faltered, but some of the tracks on the first CD seemed to grow tired to me. With "Habeas Corpus" this Rock and Roll Funk band has a fluidity through the entire CD. The production sounds more solid, the riffs are easier to hear, and the message is very clear. I have always loved Rock and Roll with a Conscious, but these guys make me want to dance while protesting. They rock on the side of Buckcherry, but with a heavier drum sound, It's like Eric Carr has returned in their drummer's body. Buy this CD, make your friends buy this CD, word of mouth is still the best way for a great band to make a good living. Also hoping that their management will hook them up with someone great to tour with this summer and through the Winter. Get Inspired with "Living Things" latest release "Habeas Corpus" and have a great 2009!

I've loved this album. I listen to it at least once a month, usually to get through a tough afternoon at work. I wish they had more albums out.
