About the Author

I scored 177 on the June 2007 LSAT, and have been happily teaching the test since 2008. I went to the University of Toronto's law school for a year, but decided that LSAT prep was much more fun.

I now live in Montreal, Canada. Apart from teaching the LSAT and writing LSAT explanations, I'm the moderator of Reddit's LSAT forum (come check us out!).

The hardest thing in life is finding what you want to do. I've finally found it. If you're reading this, then you've probably realized law is for you. I wish you the best of luck on the LSAT and as a lawyer. Get in touch (my email is in the books), I love to hear from students.

I was self-taught and regardless of how well you're scoring on the LSAT, this book is very helpful.

For every question, he anticipates your line of reasoning to provide a more meaningful and easy-to-follow explanation.
Nancy
The book is great in explaining why correct answers are correct, as well as why the other options are wrong.

Graeme paraphrases the question in plain terms, and walks through each step in obtaining the right answer in a very logical way. This book uses the same techniques as other guides, but it is SO much more consistent and concise! (Often, explanations are dense and seem to make as many assumptions as the test questions/answer choices.) This book is different. By the time you read through all the tests, you've gradually developed your eye for the questions. Using this book is a great way to test your mastery of techniques!

As an LSAT tutor myself, it is clear to me that these books are an excellent reference for the LSAT. They provide explanations as to why answer choices are both correct and incorrect for LSAT preptests 29-33. Explanations for each individual question are so important because they allow a student to focus on the specific questions they are having issues with. It is also very useful that the books not only include explanations of the right answer choice, but also explanations of the wrong answer choice.

Although these explanations are excellent, they also have a necessary limitation. Many people get questions wrong for different reasons and, in a book, it is impossible to explain every reason why someone might have gotten a question wrong. So as you are going through the explanations, don't be surprised if some explanations to wrong answers aren't entirely applicable to you, this is a necessary part of any book like this.

Overall, I would definitely recommend buying this book. You can also visit my site at 180degreeslsat.com for more help/recommendations.

If you're looking for LSAT self-study books, you've come to the right place. I found his reviews and methodology to pretty extremely manageable and concise.

Unlike some of the different providers, Graeme breaks down each question without the usual pretentiousness that come with many of the LSAT books available. There's not a lot of fodder in this, it's right down to business, which if you are currently self studying, is exactly what you need.

The best part of this book is that Graeme is able to come down to our level, as a student. He approaches questions and is willing to admit where and when there could be room for confusion. He does not naturally assume that all he has to do is provide you with the answer, he shows you why the question could be difficult and will even admit that he was unsure at first glance.

This process, although undervalued, is actually highly effective in developing an overall strategy to tackle harder questions.

Thank you again Graeme. It was a fantastic study material and it has helped me in my application process.

Graeme's book brings a different view to demystifying the LSAT. The book not only explains the right and wrong answers, but teaches you how to read the reading comprehension and the logical reasoning questions. His technique to set up the games rule by rule help me not making any fatal mistakes in the set up. The strategies he teaches can be useful for someone starting as much as for someone wanting to perfect his strategies. Without his help my LSAT score would have been average, he brought my understanding of the LSAT and my score to a higher level even if english is not my mother tongue.

Making use of Graeme's techniques, I was able to significantly improve my LSAT score in six weeks of prep time. His accessible explanations and general strategies for each of the section types proved to be invaluable. This guide book is an outstanding resource for mastering the LSAT.

I got a copy of Hacking the LSAT relatively late into my studies. But that's not to say that it didn't help me; quite the opposite! The book is great in explaining why correct answers are correct, as well as why the other options are wrong. These explanations are simple-to-understand while being very informative. Even better, each question is broken down into different sections. I found the 'analyses' and 'reasoning' to be extremely helpful because I was better able to know what to look for in a correct answer choice. In fact, I tried to incorporate similar analyses of the questions while practicing the questions.

Another thing I tried to model were the summaries for the reading comprehension. While many LSAT resources say to make quick summaries of each paragraph in a passage, it was great to see examples of what good summary takes from the passage; it helped me save some valuable seconds on the RC! The explanations of logic games were also great as they took some of the hardest games and made them seem much simpler.

While it was definitely a great resource to my later studies, I do wish that I had gotten a copy earlier!
