I've returned home,

After a number of years of not purchasing these clogs (hoping to find something that my big toe wouldn't burst through in 1+ yrs) and not being happy with any of the slippers that have come and gone in the meantime, I have returned home. These are exceptionally comfortable clogs all year round and I was a faithful user for many, many years. My only problem is that I wear them out from overuse! However, I finally decided that's okay. Maybe, if I only wear them inside, they will last longer. However, I don't think I will be able to do that come spring! They're equally great to use as outdoor shoes or indoor slippers! Oh, well! Guess I'll just have to buy another pair!

There aren't all that many shoes that are comfortable, for me--and sure not fun, classic, and stylish at the same time! I had eyed these for years, and finally decided last year to bite the bullet and buy a pair.
They're not the cheapest clogs out there, but it was worth every dime. They've lasted beautifully, through snow, rain, cooking (I am not a neat chef!), and all the while like walking on air. Warm in the winter, great for bedroom slippers OR outdoor wear, and just plain cute--what more can anyone ask? (Yes, I'm ordering a second pair!)

I wear these clogs around the house everyday. They are comfy and I don't feel like I'm slouching around in slippers. After about 2 yrs of regular wear, the big toe tends to tear thru the felt, and the felt edges and back break down; but that's still a lot of wear for the money.

These shoes are so comfy. At the end of the day I can't wait to put them on. Great arch support too. I will order one size down next time though. They run large.

The perfect slipper for summer and winter,

I have been wearing boiled wool clogs for several years now from sub-zero MN winter days through 90 degree July days. They are warm in the winter and surprisingly cool in the summer. I have tried several brands and the Haflinger are made of thicker material and last longer than the competition. A little hint based my experience - these need to be stored out of the reach of puppies when you are not wearing them.

I do not understand why the insole does not go all the way to the top of the toe, it is cut off half way up has a label sewed onto it, it constantly feels as though there is something in the slipper. My biggest concern is that the half insole will peel off (one side seems starting to). You can see the stitching on the insole along the sides, and the wool seems to be peeling or shedding this may be normal, time will tell.
My wife has a pair of Stegmann slippers, seems to be a better quality with no half insole, the insole seems to be one with the top with no stitching. She has had them for 4 years now and they still look good. They did not shed as she recalls. I hope the ones I purchased (Halflinger GZ Classic Grizzly) last as long as my wifes. I paid a lot more for them than I wanted to. More than what we purchased my wifes for. I tried looking for The Stegmanns but we could not find them on the sites we looked in, so I settled for these. I did find other things wrong in the manufacturing process which I found surprising considering the cost, but it did not seem to affect their functionality. I have had them for over a month now. If you were to ask me if I would purchase them again? I would probably say yes, as long as the price was cut to about 1/3 to 1/2 the cost. They are too expensive for what you get.

this is a very comfortable shoe which I wear as a slipper around the house. nice cork sole provides proper cushion and is not heavy. the shoe is warm enough to wear without socks.
